Blogger Schmogger and Moving Monday

Just a quick post from me this morning since we have a big day around here.

I got a comment from Patti@ Fill My Cup with Beauty on my last post about some blogger issues.  As it turns out, I'm having some of those same problems. I had blamed Della the Demon Possessed Laptop, but apparently, the gal has been falsely accused.

Random blogger quirks for both of us include

1. Blogs that will not update on the homepage, leaving  you unaware of updates. One of my blogs not only will not update, it shows that it doesn't exist if I click on it. It does exist.

2. Discovering that you have "unfollowed" a blog with no intention or knowledge of doing so

3. Random, mysterious blogs showing up on your followed list. Cue the Twilight Zone theme...

4. Unintentionally following yourself, like a dog chasing her tail

5. Trying to follow a blog 45 different times only to have it refuse to show up as followed.

And I have another oddball one that Patti didn't mention:

6. I had a trial blog and profile before I started Words on Wheels. Lately, every time I try to follow a blog, it comes up as that other old blog, although  I have deleted that blog. It's like it's stuck on stupid.

Can you relate to any of those problems?
Any suggestions?
Don't tell me to ask Bloggerman.
He doesn't exist.

In other news, we're leaving soon for what I'm forcing myself to call an adventure. (Back off, would- be burglars. We have a doberman, and she's packing an UZI. Her name is Duchess...)

The Practical One has decided to play her own game of
Mother May I.
 It went something like this:

Mother, may I take 532 giant steps away from home?
No, you may not...

It didn't work. Apparently, God said, Yes, you may, and in the lawn game of life, God trumps Mother. We're leaving this morning. I have packed my shiny red kodak, and I'll be searching for some sunshine.

Would you like to know where we're going?
No, you may not...

Yet.

If I am having any of these problems I am just tooooooooooooooooo old to know or too out of it or too non-technical...what is the saying, "ignorance is bliss"...I will take that one.

Me too...

No followers faces appear on my own blog, and I can't get it fixed, as you said, Mr.Bloggerman is not out there, he does not exist.

Go find the sunshine! :)

I am so curious about the envelope on your dash board in the photo. A quick stop at the post office on your way out of town or a way to keep from knowing how fast you are going? :)

I may have already posted an answer as I typed one and I am not sure what happened. Now that's the kind of stuff that happens to me but I am pretty sure it is MY lack of typing skills or something, lol. OH, and I notice everyone in a while that one or two followers I had have dropped off. But again, pretty sure it was probably intentional, lol. As for your problems, if I have them I haven't noticed, which means absolutely nothing at all other than I am just sooo behind technically I am still surprised I can work this at all. OH, and once my whole blog was gone....don't ask me where or what happened, it was just gone. My hubby somehow got it back...sigh. Enjoy your trip...I am quite curious. HUGS

I remember taking those giant steps away from home. Granted, I was a 17 year old girl and not nearly as well adjusted as your awesome Practical One. It was hard for mother AND me. But you will get through it, and you'll both grow because of it. Praying for you all in this transitional time!!!

Be carefeul out there on the road! We want to see you back alive and healthy for 2012!!! As for the Blogger problems, I use WordPress but have been experiencing some similar difficulties of late. What the heck is goin' on? I have comments that don't come to my email as they have been set up to do, and all sorts of other weird stuff. It's maddening!!!!!!! Go forth, young woman, and seek sunshine! Have a happy day! :-)

Bloggy problems are such a headache but nothing will keep me from coming to visit whether it' old posts or new. HUGS and PRAYERS for the grand adventure. Happy New Year too!!

I've been praying for all of you today. Big Adventure blessings to The Practical One ... and sunshine for Mom and Dad!

I'm a little afraid to say that right now I'm NOT having any major Blogger issues; in the past, though, I've actually found help at www.blogging.nitecruzr.net. Ever tried there? Good luck!

Okay that is SO CRAZY!!! you do the post on BLOGGING Crazy Stuff... And it took me 4 tries to be able to leave a comment... A comment just to tell you "HI and have FUN!!!" LOL!! can't wait to find out where you went!!

Best of luck to you and your daughter. I am sure The Practical One (didn't earn that name for nothing, right?) will do great!! Blogger has so many quirks I could not begin to list. This a.m. I had dozens of posts from a blog I follow going back a couple of months. Never saw them when they first came out. I noticed I "lost" followers on my Google Friend Connect only to see my blog on their blog rolls! BTW, does anyone know what is going to happen to us when GFC goes away, supposedly in March? xo

Oh dear, Blogger problems are a headache for sure! Good job it's free is all I can say!

I well remember the May I game... those were the days.

I hope your "adventure" leads you all to the sunshine. Can't wait to find out where you are going!

Will be praying for you and your family, enjoy the sunshine, and promise us to share when you get back,

Debbie,
Bless your adventure! I think I have been having the same problems, but like Janette, I may just be "missing" them.
If I have a problem I just reboot, and that's my solution to every computer issue.
Enjoy the sunshine.

I just want to know where you are going, oh, enigmatic one! ;)

Yes, yes and yes, and double yes. I have had and am having most of the same troubles. I hate when I can't comment..or when I do it does not go through. Have fun, and be safe! I have no answers btw in reference to all the problems we are having.

Mine has been quirky for awhile doing all sorts of things. Get ready for a big change in March to blogger - I have been hearing some rumors. sandie

Well, for me it's the google friend connect disappearing magic act. One click it's not there, two clicks it's back, three clicks the blue follow this site button that goes with it disappears. It's half minded through Internet Explorer and empty headed through Google Chrome. I'm relieved to hear others are having issues too because most days you'll find me quoting those famous Steve Urkel words, "Did I do that?" ;) We're in this together, babe. ;)
Safe trip,
Marcia

Yes been having some of the same problems...at one point it said my blog did not exsist when I tried to access it...yikes!
Hope you have a nice time on your adventure, put that shining red kodak to work

You are off to find the YELLOW quickly!! YEA! I haven't had any issues with blogger, because I have been trying to catch up on my work since the kiddos went home. Hope not to have any! And, I hope your issues are cleared up soon. ENJOY your adventure! blessings ~ tanna

Hope you have a delightfully charming time in that decidedly confused city! Give hugs to that lovely practical daughter of yours. We miss her already.

I think we are members of the same club! Your page looks fine and complete to me, but my OWN page does not allow me to see followers, has blank squares show up in different spots, and some of your list above. It is frustrating, but I am glad to know I am not alone.

Debby, I'm afraid I'm not obervant enough to notice whether or not I'm having these problems. I do know that you are correct - there is no bloggerman. I've tried reaching him too! The suspense is killing me. I'll be back to see where the Practical One is going! laurie

My blog looks okay (keeping my fingers crossed!) I did notice that I'm no longer on your list (I think I used to be.)

I'm wondering if you headed to FL to look for sunshine, if so, wish you would come here to see me!! I have a house trimmed in YELLOW, a YELLOW guest room, YELLOW kitchen counters, YELLOW roses everywhere!! Lots of sunshine! Come on down!!!

Have fun!

One of the reasons I switched to WordPress was all the Blogger glitches. That and the fact that they can delete your blog at anytime because they own your content not you.

Oh yea, imagine my surprise when I went to blog reader and got up dates from a swinger blog I swear I did not follow! Commenting, some times I have to try 3 times to leave a comment, I push publish and nothing happens.

Debbie, you KNOW all the frustrating problems that I have with Blogger. Goodness, I wok about them all the time to you! And it absolutely BUGS THE HECK out of me that there is NO person you can talk to about any of it. What ever happened to Customer Service? Don't they know that we all live (obsess) in Blog Land???

However, Blogger has become a convenient excuse for everything in my life. Like misplacing my glasses, forgetting to pay a bill, getting lost while driving - it's never my fault anymore. I blame it ALL on Blogger. Remember that old phrase, "The devil made me do it"? I've updated that..."Blogger made me do it. It's all their fault." (Maybe the devil is the major shareholder of Blogger...hmmm).

Hope you had a wonderful week - sorry I'm a little late to the party. Prayers were with you and everyone...

GOD BLESS!

I routinely sacrifice an adult virgin male at the altar of Blogland and things usually run smoothly for a month or two.

It is getting hard to find adult virgin males though, so this could be the root of your problem. ;-D
