One Small Step For Man

My how time has flown!
It's already time for the monthly
Note Card Party

That's the time when we dig back into the blog archives to find four pictures which could be turned into note cards.  They don't have to have a theme, but I'm sort of a themey person by nature so mine generally do.

I'm calling this week's collection
Stepping Out.

Cards for celebrating those milestones in our lives,
large and small.

Like retirement...

And graduation...

wedding or an Anniversary

And  Coming Home

This last one is actually my favorite
and one that I really am making into a card this week.

Just in case you don't recognize them,
those are the cowboy boots of a certain
 Lt. McNephew.

After a year of deployment,
we finally have boots on the ground.

American ground, that is.

Time to untie the yellow ribbons, folks ...

His can is coming home.

LOVE visiting you, Deb! I get my chuckles AND a serious slice of devotional thoughts that are - as you noted in your July 8th Sunday post, "enough" light for me to "get it" and be going on with.

Siberia is splendid - can't wait to see how you finish it off. Can't imagine having an extra bathroom that is rarely used. During our derecho storm this month, ours saw a lot of action with all and sundry stopping by. We were the 10% blessed to have power within hours. 90% of our city was without for days - slowly restored over a two week period.

Will be catching up at Vee's Note Card Party this week - have a few little shots worthy, I daresay.

Best to you with that change of mind thing regarding outside-the-box thinking at church. Tough one. I was always struggling with that through the years in the many fellowships the Lord has planed me in (former Navy wife moving 18 times in 20 years)and all I can say is I'm the one who was changed. Thankfully, in mid-life, God has given us a wonderful Calvary Chapel with so many outside-the-box creative thinkers and talented individuals - I am thriving as an artist who happens to be a Christian.

Yak on- friend - I love ya!
Kathy

Love these pictures! Love the one of your daughter's graduation. Love that last one!!

I think you like feet. I think it's because you know that we are to "go" and tell the Good News. Now you need to start taking pictures of mouths.

So happy McNephew is home!!!!

Tears and more tears. These would all be wonderful note cards. You should seriously consider starting a business.

I'm so glad you're really making that last one into a card. He will LOVE it. I cannot believe we are finally counting DAYS until his return home. As far as I am aware, 8 more days. So very proud of that SIL of mine. Thanks for this wonderful post.

OK, I'm such a sucker for pics like these! And I absolutely fell apart with the last one. Boots on the ground with days... such an answer to prayer and time of celebration for your family. I'll be untying the yellow ribbons here -- and whirling them around in the air with gratitude to God for protection ... and to the McNephew for his service ... and to his family for their sacrifice, especially the Newlywed Niece! What a joyful time of preparation must be taking place in Georgia!

I don't know what "coming home" must mean to a military family. I do know we owe our freedom to each member of the family. Thank you for the sacrifice you are willing to make so we can live in freedom.

Debbie, these would make great note cards. I particular love the graduation one with the funny quote etched in stone. But the sentiment of the coming home card is definitely the BEST! Wonderful news. Tell him that all of his fellow citizens thank him. laurie

Oh these offerings just make me grin. I really like the last one, too, for all the obvious reasons, though the humor behind the graduate's is so funny...surely there are some Baptists who may be trusted...too cute!

Has anyone told you lately how creative you are Debbie? And did you get this creativity from The Duchess? With all the tablescapes that you and the Duchess do my vote is yes! ~smiling~
I loved each photo and the thoughts with them. Yes let's welcome that dear Soldier with open arms of gratitude for his and his family's sacrifices. And oh yes, I do hope there are some Baptists that can be trusted.
Did I tell you how much I enjoyed your note cards?
Hugs,
Sue

I remember the story of most of those on your posts~ and I enjoyed them all.

So tell me - are these the postcards themselves or are these what you are going to make the postcards with?

I loved them - especially the shoes in the sand.
