A Time To Plant

Let me tell you 'bout the
Birds and the Bees and the Flowers and the Trees

(Admit it. You've got that song stuck in your head now, don't you?)

It's time for the April tablescape challenge
at Cuisine Kathleen's

After several months sabbatical, my tablescape team and I are joining in.

Since we didn't have any bird stuff, and the Duchess is allergic to bees, and the blossoms are pretty much gone from Georgia trees, we settled on flowers.

We started with these flower rimmed dinner and salad plates.

Then we added this dessert plate for a big pop of color.
We've used these plates before.
Back then, we called them sunflowers.

But really...
Don't you think they look a lot more like
 gerbera daisies?
I think they look just like gerbera daisies...

... and it has nothing to do with the fact
that I just happen to have a bunch of  gerbera daisies waiting to be planted.

Nothing whatsoever.

So we dubbed them gerbera daisies
and named this table
A Time to Plant.

Dinner plates and charger all belong to the Duchess.

Just about everything else belongs to the Farm Sister.
Her bright orange napkins  break up the field of green. .

Her flatware
 Dover by Oneida.

Her casual green stemware.

I added the nifty little stenciled coaster, though.

I stenciled the little flower pots too.

Then, I filled them with zinnia. (Zinnias? Zinniai?)

Because if you're going to call that flower a gerbera daisy,
you might as well call it a zinnia too.

The view through the chairs
inspired by
See Thru Sue@ My Place to Yours.

And there you have it.

A Time to Plant.

Which, based on the condition of those droopy flowers, is now.

One final shout out tonight to a very special couple that I know. You see, while the Farm Sister helped put together this table, she was actually not on hand to set it. She was too busy celebrating at her own table with the cowboy she married 31-derful years ago today.

Happy Anniversary to...

... and the moon up above
and a thing called love.

Love it.

As you know, I'm a big fan of putting green and yellow and orange together. Nothing shouts "Spring!" to me more. And yes, gerbera daisies, for sure.

This invisible person is pleased to join you at "A Time to Plant." I'll even stay to help you do some gardening...

Happiest anniversary to Denise and her cowboy hubby. May they have many more happy years together!

I love it for many reasons...one it is so cheerful and the most important reason is because it reminds me of my father-in-law who had a green thumb and planted gerber daises every year. How I wished I could dine at this table with him....one day I will in heaven.
Great table!!!

Oh so pretty! I love the "zinnia's"! In fact, I love all the colorings of this setting and especially the little wooden garden cart. You met this challenge beautifully! Happy Anniversary to your sister and husband too!

Debbie, it's great to see you and your tablescape team in action again! The colors of your table remind me of the only color combo my sister and I could agree on for our shared bedroom -- way back in the early 70s. I swore off of it for a long time, but tonight it actually looks nice again. You have no idea what you just accomplished!

Congratulations to Denise and her sweetie! Here's to 31-derful more years together!

The table turned out so pretty. I was happy to lend my stuff but you really have a knack for putting it all together. I haven't seen your cart full of flowers that you used for a centerpiece and it just makes the whole table.

Love the photo through the chair. Great shot.

Thanks for the anniversary wishes. What a sweet surprise.

Your are a blogging beast lately, good for you! Love the table. The gerbera daisies are one of my favs and they are so pretty in the wheelbarrow. Your tablescape team turned out a beautiful table and some pretty gardening inspiration.

Love the table, the colors, china - all of it! The wheelbarrow is perfect holding the gerbera daisies, I've always liked wheelbarrows and have a little one somewhere I need to dig out and use! I like the sunflower better as a gerbera! Sure looks like the real gerberas!

Glad to see you doing scapes again!

Spring with the gerbera daisies and zinnias plates! Your sharing the tablescaping process is wonderful. I love the green plates with the embossed flowers and especially the cute painted flower pots. Your wheel barrow with the flowers is the perfect spring centerpiece. The total sharing is a beautful accomplishment in the Spring theme.

Big time Happy Anniversary wishes to Farm Sister Denise and her husband! I love to hear about longtime marriages. In this day and time, they are a bit more few & far between than in the past.

SO wonderful to see you back on the tablescaping circuit with your posse! You guys always come together to create such winners, and this is no exception. Whether they're Gerberas or sunflowers, zinnias or something else...they're all really pretty and work perfectly on this floral table! The orange-y color really pops next to that soft green!!! SUCH cute pots for place cards, and the coasters are a really great way to top it all off. And that wonderful little wagon...wasn't that your logo at one time?

Go on and drop those green floral dishes in the mail to me! :-)

Happy Anniversary to the Farm Sister!

I dropped back by to look at this again, and somehow I missed that she had an anniversary.

Still loving on that centerpiece, Debbie.

Well, you took off the comment option, but I needed to yak at you! LOL

Sooooooooo, I just popped over here to yak at you.

Love that cute table and he wildflowers. Anything here is probably drowned due to the incessant rain we've had the last few days and counting. Noah, got any room on the ark??? ;-)

I miss you when you're not around. Your yakking always makes me smile.

I don't do facebook or pinterest, but my cousins do. I found one pin board from a cousin who is always on a diet, and honey, she had some of the best recipes on earth. Now, I (who also need to be on a diet) am going back to copy some of them. Oh, and if you think they are fat free, think again. LOL

XO,

Sheila
