Decisions, Decisions

Yep.

Yet again, I've missed a week in Blogville.  This time, I'm trying to blame it on that big decision that I yakked about in the previous post. You may not realize this, but it is very difficult to balance a lap top whilst straddling a fence.  I know because I've been trying to do it for months now.

The good news is that I am no longer straddling that fence. I'm happy to report that my legs are pointed in one direction, ready to leap off.

The bad news is that I have a developed a crease in the buttocks for fear of leaping.

No. I do not intend to post a picture of that.

For those who wondered aloud if I was talking about a blog fence, I wasn't.  The fence du jour is the women's Bible study class that I have taught for over a decade.  I can see why you would think it was the blog, though, since the blog muse seems to have left the building.

Since I'm not sure what is to blame for that, I'm blaming the fence.

In truth? It's really just a symptom of a general malaise around here.  The 4,728 unfinished blog posts in the bull pen are the least of my problems. I can't seem to make a decision about anything these days.

I created this big old mess on the underbelly of my kitchen table while trying to choose a stain for the top.

Can you see the five different stains on there?
Yeah, well neither could the husband.
He was no help at all.

In fact,  instead of being a help, he has recently suggested that I get help...

As in, "Get some help, Deb-or-ah."

It had something to do with the five text messages that I sent
from the paper plate aisle at Target the other day.

When you start using the double exclamation points in reference to paper plates,
it is indeed time to get some help...

!!

I would get that help if I could decide exactly where to go about getting it. Is this a psychological problem, or is it just another blossom on the hormone tree? Should I be terrified of dementia or worried about a brain tumor?

Decisions, Decisions.

In the spirit of procrastination, I skipped town last week to tag along with the traveling man. Our final destination was Parents Weekend with Miss Whimsy,  but I joined him a few days early in hopes of clearing my head and finding some blogspiration.

I found it.

In fact, I found so much blog fodder that I have spent the past two and a half days trying to decide what to yak about first.  Should it be the cherry blossoms or the blue hour?  My trip to the antique mall or the thirty mile drive for the dogwood show that turned out to be a dog show?

Decisions, decisions.

I finally decided to suck it up and use the most scientific decision making tool I know.

Eenie Meenie Miney Moe...

The Mercer Bell Tower in the blue hour.

And just for good measure, the clock tower too.

I may not be able to decide anything else, but one thing I know:
The blue hour is definitely my favorite time of the day.

So I decided to share it with you.

Oh, I love the blue hour photos! BUT, the dog show that you thought was a dogwood show definitely is something I want to read about!

You are so funny - what a sweet mess you are - you are just growing. Every thing will come out just fine.

And I love the blue hour photos - I looked it up and I am going to do some studying about it.

Just gorgeous.

Whew what a relief....you really had me worried that you would leave blogland! So glad you are hanging around. If you find where to get help, or what help to get...please forward that info my way, Wonder Hubby and Mini would appreciate it. I cracked up at the paper plates....I just wigged out over the weekly menu...too many choices :) Lovely pics of Mercer, Mini actually has it under consideration! Have a great week.

3 dots, exclamation points for paper plates, whatever... I am right there with you on all of it, unsure on some days if the whole bucket is about to tip over into one big puddle!!! Does that make sense? I knew it would!! :)

So happy it wasn't the blog fence you were straddling! And these photos are so gorgeous, almost unreal! Blue hour is wonderful. xo

Good morning! Boy do I ever get the decision thing...soo hard sometimes though I did have to laugh at your crease in the buttocks remark, haha. The blue hour photos are gorgeous! Love them...Enjoy your day!

Thanks for the remarks about my grands...I will admit, I am a little partial myself. ; )

I see the five stain colors! To me it matters most as to how it will look with everything you already have. Some of the stain has more black in it and some more red.
My daughter and husband text with me the most and sometimes it gets pretty ridiculous!
Those are really pretty blue hour photos!

What a hoot you are! Not sure what it would be like to live with you hence I will cut your hubby some slack for suggesting that you need help, but you are a riot to blog with. So what did you decide about the Bible study? We were talking about that, right? No? We were talking about stains? My best advice is always to choose middle of the road. Not the lightest; not the darkest; the one in them middle. Let's not confuse this with lukewarm, okay?!

Blue hour photos are always my favorite too. Glad you are done straddling that fence...not a fan of fences myself

Oh Debbie.

Fence sitting and creased buttocks are never fun. Did you get splinters, too??

My prayers continue as you settle in your mind and heart about direction - trust me, it will come.

The dogwood show sounds lovely! I'm thinking the best in show was the Blood(hound) Orchid??

And, your blue hour photos are beautiful. Just like you.

Hang in there. And, I just had to laugh at the texts from the market. I have had a few serious breakdowns this week, too - in the market, trying to decide which size of Rice Krispies box my dad wanted...because it HAD to be a "certain" one, don't ya know...

Love you.

I am laughing out loud. You are so witty. I love all of the "Debbieisms" in this post. You have such a way with words, and an incredible knack for telling something meaningful while also putting a smile on the face of your reader. Isn't the Blue Hour amazing? These gorgeous photos don't look real. It looks like somebody painted the sky onto the photo. laurie

Not sure you're completely off the fence and, selfishly, I hope you're still considering staying. I know that your bible study group is not important to people here, but it is to me. I shall continue to pray for wisdom regarding your decision and faith to accept whatever you choose.

LOVE your blue hour pictures. They certainly are "awesome" aren't they?

Can't wait to hear more stories about your adventure last week.

Your blue hour pics are wonderful!

I did he step away thing too. Big decision, but did not regret it! Still help but when I feel inclined rather than obligated!

Oooohhh...magical! I love the look of that bell tower at night with the branches lurking in front! So pretty!

I understand and commiserate re: the inability to make decisions these days. I keep blaming it on perimenopause, but I'm not sure that's it. There are JUST TOO MANY CHOICES, even when it comes to stuff like should I do the laundry or clean out a closet? TOO MANY!!! We had just better suck it up and move on! Get off that fence, sister! You first...I'll jump right after you do! :-)

I too love the blue hour! And I also love that you're not jumping the fence out of blogville. :)

Also, my husband can vouch for the fact that I can't make a decision to save my life.

I'm going through something now that I'm sure I'll blog about soon where I'm having to make a lot of decisions all at once. And let me tell you it has been a very long, painful ordeal so I totally get the whole paper plate thing. :)

Just so you know, your post here helped me to laugh about my own situation which is a big relief. Thank you!!!

I'm so glad you are off the fence. You can now concentrate on bringing us the cherry blossoms please. The blue hour was a good choice to go with today though. Your photos are great - so atmospheric.

Oh, girl!! I L.O.V.E. the blue hour, too!! I was like a crazy woman taking photos when I first learned about it. LOL! Okay, the blue hour was not the cause of crazy, just another excuse for it. ;)

Soooo, glad you were not talking about your blog. Selfish. Yep, I know.

Advice from an older woman... check out bio-identical hormone replacement therapy. It is a miracle. A miracle.

A dog festival???? So funny.

I hope your head feels more clear. I know these changes in our bodies are not fun, but I know that God knows exactly what's going on and why, and that makes me feel so much better. I pray that any fog or non-clarity will be cleared from you this day. I pray that God will give you clarity in every decision you make.

"He calls you beautiful one".

He calls me that too!! :)

WOO HOO!!!
