I Suspect Mrs. Peacock...

... in the dining room

... with a feather.

Yep, that's the way it happened. I was there, and I saw it.
Apparently, the old broad invited a bunch of hens to a luncheon club
and tickled them to death.

Have I mentioned that the Farm Sister has always had a thing for peacocks? Probably not, I can't imagine why I would. She has, though. When we were kids and played the game Clue, she was always Mrs. Peacock, and she spoke the entire game with a British accent. I was Miss Scarlet and spoke with a drawl.

We've always been a couple of oddballs now that I think about it.

Mrs. Peacock grew up to marry a farmer, and on their farm they actually do have a peacock. His name is Ralph.  Ralph is a bit shy about showing his feathers for the camera.

He's not in the least bit shy about shedding his feathers for the picking, though.

So when her daughters gave her these whimsical plates for her birthday this year,
she knew exactly what she was going to do for her turn at luncheon club.

Gold flatware and some gold chargers were a must.
Peacocks are all about the bling.

And the rest of the table was all about the feathers.

Feathers on the place cards.

Feathers down the middle of the table

And eyes looking out from the votives and linen.

Mrs. Peacock is nothing if not a detail person.

Napkins were done in a peacock fold.

It's made by fan folding a square napkin on the diagonal
and nesting it in the glass.

Her flowers had a lot of plumage too.
She was kind of afraid that this centerpiece was going to be too tall,
 but noooo...

We talked right over them without a problem.

In regular accents though, which means that everybody was trying to be Miss Scarlet.

Everybody that is, except the Farm Sister.
No matter how she talks, she will always be  Mrs. Peacock.

And she will always be the second oddest bird in town.

(If Miss Scarlet inexplicably disappears for that one,
feel free to suspect Mrs. Peacock with a lead pipe in the conservatory...)

Oh how cute your sister looks in her peacock splashed dress!!!! She sure can decorate up a gorgeous luncheon table with peacock flair, Debbie! Thanks for sharing her creativity with us.

Wow Debbie, this table is beautiful!! I love those peacock plates and the peacock napkin folds! I have those same goblets by the way; I've had them for years and I think they're so pretty. :) Your sister did a beautiful job with this table; the gold chargers and flatware really make everything pop, and the centerpiece is gorgeous. The flowers are so exotic looking and perfect for a peacock theme.

Speaking of peacock themes -- the farm sister's dress is perfect for this table. You two really have an eye for detail. Last, but certainly not least, I love the picture of Ralph! He's adorable -- such a handsome fellow. :-D

Hugs,

Denise

Guilty as charged. I was Mrs. Peacock...always. I never liked the idea that she was old but she was "blue" so that trumped old. So glad you liked my table not so glad you liked my peacock pose to use to it for the world to see. However, I am what I am. Thanks for sharing my table.

I LOVE everything about this! Soo pretty! But I think my favorite is your sister in her dress! So fun and cute. Enjoy your day!

She's as adorable as you are! The Duchess did a great job raising you girls!

That table is wonderful, and so is Farm Sister's dress! The colors are amazing.

ps - Clue is my favorite board game. I'm partial to red so I always was Miss Scarlet too. But these days when I play with the kids, I'm usually Mrs. White. They like to be all the flashy colors! LOL

I loved playing Clue as a youngster. Y'all are so adorable and I'd love to be in on a dinner conversation.

Love the peacock dinnerware, and the feathers, of course.

fun, fun, fun...oh yes peacocks are the thing. That is why I had the mural painted on my clients ceiling with peacock feathers and of course, the floral arrangements for the table also. I needed you...you could have put more finishing touches. This is beautiful.

Love the peacock theme, and these colors are sensational! Wow. Those napkins are practically glowing. I love Clue! Was never very good at it though.

Wow, that is a very beautiful table! Mrs. Peacock, and her sidekick Miss Scarlett did a fine job! Almost too pretty to sit down and eat. Almost.

Where I grew up, there was a local arboretum, complete with PLENTY of peacocks. They were beautiful, yes, but if they got disturbed they made the most awful screeching, screaming sound. Sounded like someone was individually plucking every single feather out.

Pride cometh before a fall???

And Denise - oh my! She is beautiful - and that dress and pose is something to crow about. (Sorry, I'm feeling rather avian this morning.)

This invisible guest is delighted to attend...as Colonel Mustard...because every table needs a condiment, just sayin'...

XO

I LOVE your pictures, those colors and that dress! Of course, I love your odd sense of humor, because I can relate. (My husband still doesn't know when I'm serious and when I'm kidding)

Hi, I'm here from Shug's blog... One things about your profile which jumped out at me immediately. You love "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" as much as I always have. When I was a teen---I probably saw that movie 5-6 times. Then I bought it on a tape --and watched it more... Just something about it which I still love.

Love your Peacock theme. Your table setting is PERFECT --and I especially love your dinner plates. WOW!!!!!

I loved CLUE also --so enjoyed hearing about Mrs. Peacock and Miss Scarlet....

Hugs,
Betsy

OMGoodness! I LOVE IT ALL!

Oh. Sorry for yelling. The colors of a peacock are the colors I love.

The dishes? Too pretty/funky for words. The napkin fold was elegant and your sister's pose...priceless!

Uh, did you know that she looks a bit like The Practical One?

As usual, a home run!

Cheers!

Oh, btw, I was always Miss Scarlett, too! ;)

Denise's table is gorgeous and "right up my alley"! The colors are so vibrant, and I'm always a sucker for the bling. I don't think I've ever seen a peacock napkin fold before, but I love it! It's absolutely the perfect finishing touch to an elegant table.

I am in awe -- her very own peacock. I love peacocks, too, except for the screeching noise they make.

I also have those dishes and some very similar gold flatware. My powder room has some peacock things, and so does my back porch, so I guess great minds think alike. Nice that there is an inexhaustible supply of feathers!

Oh, that brought me back to childhood games! We even did a murder mystery video one year as an adult for one of my Halloween parties based on Clue. It was hysterical.
I just love these peacock plates. You created a beautiful table around them with all of the feathers and effects. I always wanted to be Miss Scarlet, but now I might change my mind - I just didn't have enough vision!
