Simply Coming Home

Just a quick post from  me today.
I'm very busy.

Anyone want to guess what I'm doing?
It's quite an adventure, you know.

I've loaded Ebenezer with empty boxes and bins and filled the tank with gas.
Ouch!.

Later, I'm heading out alone to meet Super Dad.

Here...

Now, I may be arriving alone,
but I won't be returning empty handed.

That's what makes it an adventure.

I'll be filling up the car with this

And this...

And this

And this

And this...

And whatever mess has been homesteading
 in that tiny little room,
at the end of the hall,
on the third floor of a dorm
without an elevator.

Somehow, we'll make it all fit and still have room for the important stuff.

This.

Bring home a little Whimsy is this week's simple pleasure.

The adventure will be so worth it with the summer ahead and the house full of girls, laughter, and all the rest! Makes the lack of an elevator pale in comparison!

I LOVE the dorm room!

I know you are excited! My oldest is coming to visit for a few days and I've been cleaning (like that matters to him) and planning menus! (this is important for sure). Hope you have a wonderful summer with her.

I can't believe what a cute dorm she put together! Mine was never that cute -- just drab and depressing. Have fun! Joni

So excited to have Miss Whimsy home for the summer. I'll certainly need a pick-me-up since mine is leaving for the big city just a week after graduation. I'm NOT ready for this change but I guess I'd better get ready.

It will be so nice to have another smiling face at the Duchess's Sunday table. I can't wait to see her.

PS Hope you don't get to tired with the move.

LOL! I just remembered there was NO elevator Hannah's first year either! And, it was ME who helped her haul everything down, also 3 flights. That was the time my car door got "keyed." I stayed in a spot "too long" I guess.

If someone had lent a hand, then perhaps it would not have taken me as long!

I hope your day was not as long! Enjoy your summer!

Is there a conspiracy against moms of freshmen girls? Praying Miss Whimsy gets either a first floor or a room with an elevator next year!

Cheers!

Hi Debbie,

How ironic -- I saw your post yesterday afternoon, and we had just gotten home from picking up our son as well. Isn't it great to have them home? When does your other daughter get home? Our son lives on campus in an apartment-style dorm; they're very nicely laid out. But he has four other guys in his suite, and man what a mess. I did the vacuuming, but those guys had to do the bathroom themselves (I was not gonna go there). I'd love you to stop by my blog and see my tablescape if you get a chance. Hope you have a very Happy Mother's Day!!

Hi Debbie,
I know your heart is singing!! Don't we Mom's love when our chicks are in the nest. Know you are looking forward to a nice summer with her. How about the other one, is she coming home too??
Hope so..........

Hope you were able to get everything to fit in your expedition...looked like a lotta stuff to me.

Thanks for coming by today and for your comments as always. Yes, I am a hopeless romantic as well. So I think Weddings are awesome.

and you are so right about the job situation, I am a planner or maybe a dreamer as you say, and I love thinking about what our options are and we can do this and that, and it comes so easily, but then after you do all that and it goes nowhere it can really be disappointing for a few days, so we have determined best not to count those eggs till they hatch!! lol
So we are using our God Given Self Control to
constraint ourselves, not easy, but easier than the last time!! lol
He heard back a 2nd time from one of them today, and they said he would be hearing from the local people hopefully next week. We'll see!
By this time next week we will be celebrating our Newly Wed couple!!
Blessings to you hon, and have a Wonderful time with your sweet daughter!!

YAY! Whimsy arrives home!

I remember when my sons arrived home from college - it was so thrilling. A lot of work, yes - but such great joy to have them under my roof again! Isn't it funny how our kids never really grow up in our eyes??

What about Miss Practical? Or is that another blog??

Miss Whimsy looks the spiitin' image of you, Debbie - which of course makes her adorable!!
