How To Have Baby Cheeks

It's Friday afternoon folks... which can only mean one thing.
My face is sticky.

Since it will remain sticky for about the next thirty minutes, I have nothing better to do right now than sit down post about it.

Friday, you see, is the day I give myself the Friday Facial.

I give myself a Friday facial because that traveling man I married comes home on Fridays, and I just think he ought to come home to something a little more pleasant than the menopausal fifty face I usually wear.

I give myself  a homemade facial because I'm a cheapskate who really doesn't like to pay for a product that might or might not work. Plus, I'm kind of an earth girl who likes to use stuff found in nature. Plus, I just don't need one more bottle or tube to clutter up my vanity...

Plus, it works.

No, really... It does for pennies what I have yet to see another product do as well. That's why I'm yakking it abroad in blog land.

I must warn you, though, the ingredients are very exotic.
Here ya go:

Dissolve 3 tablespoons of white sugar
in 3 tablespoons of very warm water.

Put one of those cheap circle face thingies into the mix
and let it soak up the mixture.

(You could probably use cotton balls or something like that, but I like the circle thingies.)

Gently apply all over the face, even the eye lids if you're careful.
You might want to avoid the lips if you're on a low carb diet.

And don't forget the throat.
There's absolutely no point in having baby cheeks
if you're just going to stick them on top of a chicken neck, people.

Leave on about 30 minutes. Then gently remove it with warm water.

Follow up with splashes of cold water.

And there ya go: Baby Cheeks.

That's my beauty tip of the day.
I'm pretty sure that everybody has a favorite  beauty tip or two.
What's yours?

I need all the help I can get.
"Cause I'm 50, remember?

I don't really have any tips except sunblock and moisturizers, drinking lots of water and exercise.
But this is quite intriguing.....

This is easy and inexpensive! I like those cotton "thingies" too. I have to admit, I do love a good professional facial. I had some of the most fabulous ones at the Hershey Spa. But I need to be much more conservative with spending. I am going to try this. xo

You are too cute for words. What I really what have liked to see is a shot with your facial on. Ya know I have done that before. I am actually using, a product sent to me, that I will be writing about. It is fabulous!

So THAT's my problem! All these years I've been drinking the sugar water instead of applying it to my face:@) Happy weekend!

Hi Debbie, Thanks for the visit and comment and thank too for the facial tip. I think I'll try this one, does it work on a 65 year old face? Have a great week. Joyous Wishes, Linda

Just my cup of tea, ahmmmm facial.

My tip is that I use good old vaseline to take makeup off and as a nightcream.
Another very exotic item!

Your facial sounds heavenly and I'm going to try it. I'm an earth girl, too and love things as natural as possible..at least I say that. I need baby cheeks and to get rid of my chicken neck. Hope it works...at my age, I think the chicken neck is here to stay, but it can be a soft chicken neck..right?

Debbie I've never heard of this one before. It certainly is quite budget friendly, I like that. I also like that you still do this for the Mr., that's so sweet! Does he come home and call you "Sugar" by chance? LOL! Sorry, it's late and I'm tired. Thanks for sharing this tip with us. I'll have to give it a try. Saw your beautiful tablescape briefly last night and will come back again this weekend to spend a bit more time enjoying it. It was so pretty and I want to revisit it again when I have more time before commenting. I want to soak in each and every beautiful detail! Have a great weekend!

Never, never heard of this and I love how simple it is. But I really love that you do this for your sweetie {couldn't resist} every week.

Hi Debbie,

I love that cute little Coppertone Ad! :) I will definitely have to try this easy and inexpensive facial. I love to get good tips like this. And like you, I need all the help I can get, 'cause I'm 51 (gasp).

Thanks for visiting and leaving a comment on my Redbuds post. Isn't it neat to see what's blooming in different parts of the country?

XO,
Denise

Without knowing that you did it, you have challenged me to be more proactive in making myself look better for my husband. I love that you do this every Friday before your hubbie gets home. How special and how much love you show him by doing this. Thanks for sharing!

I thought you were going to say an oatmeal and honey mask! I haven't heard of a sugar mask! I exfoliate twice a week (sometimes more) with Lancome scrub. I was a Mary Kay consultant for many years a long time ago, it helped a lot and taught me to keep up a routine!

Will try the sugar mask sometime!

Debbie, I would have never guessed you are 50. I guess all that sugar really does work! I would have to sit in a room with the door closed, otherwise, my 4 doggies would lick me to death! --------- Shannon

No wonder you are such a sweetie! I'm wondering what liquid stevia could do for this old crow... Thanks for the scoop Debbie.

This is great! I can do this. I have these ingredients. I'm definitely filing this info for future use because I still have baby cheeks. I'm a mere 47 (until May) don't you see. :)

Hi Debbie!
After a lifetime of poor choices/neglect ... I prone to mutter, "What's the use?".

Then, again, I'm intrigued! (Being as, donning a burka in Phoenix summer isn't really an option ...)

Have a great weekend!!!

I am going to try this in a few minutes. I've never had a professional facial but it does sound relaxing and very pampering.

Thanks for the prayers. They are much appreciated.

A sugar base to exfoliate your face - to make you sweeter then you already are! Thanks for the tip. sandie

I've not heard of this one either. But if it works... Stick with it or sticky with it! Have a great weekend!

If I do a facial, it's usually a sample from a Clinique giveaway bag. When these run out, I'm trying your version for sure. Never thought about doing the neck, though. Do you think there's any help for my aging neck since, after all, I am older than you?

I think I'd better start saving for some plastic surgery. Just sayin'...

I'll have to give this a try. God knows I could use a beauty tip.

Decor To Adore said...

Exfoliation and moisturizing is the key. After bathing, before I dry off I slather on Neutrogena oil. Then I use Nivea creme (sold in a blue tub) on my hands and feet to try and combat the evil desert dryness. With coupons both items can be had for under $10.

Really?? Baby cheeks are really that simple? And it works on a chicken neck, too? I'm gonna have to try this.

My beauty tip?

Avoid mirrors...cause I'm almost 58, remember?!

Mid-Atlantic Martha said...

I'm going to have to give that a try on my pushing close to 60 face!

That's it??? Gotta try that, cause we all know Georgia peaches have the best skin!

Sugar, water, and circle thingies...check. Now, that merits my simplicity stamp of approval. :)

We must have crossed paths because I was headed your way when I saw your comment just now. :)

So, this sugar water softens the skin? Amazing. Gotta try it. Have you tried honey, mayo and an egg on your hair. Mix it, put it on your hair, wrap the hair in something like plastic cap or even aluminum foil. Leave it in 15-20 minutes. Wash out. Used to do it when I was younger. Let's have a slumber party and try all this stuff out. Hmmm...thinking how the internet might have that option one day. ;)

Love ya!!

You crack me up! Must try your facial. Have you tried the aspirin facial? 4/5 uncoated aspirins that you pulverize and mix with honey or some cold cream of your choice. Apply. Supposedly the saylic(sp?) acid in aspirin is the wonder ingredient.

Now, I like this one! I am trying it because my 40 year old cheeks (and well everything else) needs some help! I have done a scrub with sugar and jojoba oil and loved that!
