You Can't Send That In The Mail

In case you haven't noticed, I've been in a bit of a blog slump lately and in dire need of something to jump start the old engines. Honestly, I was just about to send these wheels to the tow yard.

Then... I discovered a party.

Don't you think mingling at a party is a great way to jump start the engine?
Yeah, me too.

And so, I'm joining Vee at A Haven for Vee this morning. She  has created a party with a bit of a challenge.  We're supposed to choose four (and only four) photos already living on our blog which could be used as note cards.

I think she probably means beautiful note cards. You know, the kind taken by gifted photographers with fancy schmancy cameras.

Unfortunately, all I have to offer is a blonde with a shiny red Kodak, but I'm party crashing anyway.

So here ya go: Random note cards on wheels,  complete with suggested captions. Maybe you can caption them better.

How about this one
for a person recovering from knee replacement?

Maybe choosing the discount plan wasn't such a good idea after all...

*****

Here's one for college graduation.

Shoot for the stars!
You can't pay off those student loans by aiming for the toilet.
*****

Then, there's this one.

Good luck on your move to Georgia....
*****

And finally, just a  note of encouragement.

Really, no one is laughing at  you.
I promise....

*****

And that's all I've got this morning.
So tell me, how would you caption the notecards from the shiny red Kodak?

i can see from your selection of photos for the note cards ... you have a wonderful sense of humor. love it!! gosh, i can't pick... these are just perfect. the one with the leg coming out of the trash ... would be so perfect for several friends. they would get a real "kick" out of it. funny!! i often see people moving their mattresses out there on the roads & i wonder have they ever done this before, i see not??! you have got to tie the thing down or you will be picking the thing up very shortly ... holding on like this is not going to do. ha. ha!! what a laugh. i love how so many are picking different photos from their blog for the note card link up party. so cool. happy to find you. take care. (:

You caught me off guard this morning by posting again but boy am I glad I meandered this way. You are so funny. I REALLY laughed out loud at these cards. You've always had the ability to notice such quirky little things and get that funny photo. Who knew you could end with a greeting card line?! Great post.

PS I tried to come up with some lines but just went blank this a.m.

Debbie, I love these photos and your clever captions! I started laughing out loud, and my daughters came over to see what was so funny on the computer!

The pic of the poor folks trying to keep the box spring and mattress on their car roof just took me over the edge. Thanks for sharing!

So funny! It's neat to see all the different themes that people come up with. :) I got a big laugh out of the people holding their matress and boxspring while driving. :D

Very amusing. I started out thinking you were going to post beautiful scenery pics but this is WAY better. Thanks for the laugh!

OK, here goes:

1. "Here's hoping you get a leg up on the competition!"

2. "Add this one - remember to lower the seat!"

3. "For those days when you're just too tired to take another step"

4. "Hope this card isn't too *sappy* - but *wood* you mind if I told you I will never *leaf* you..."

Not bad, huh?!

I love the trash can one, but I'm particularly drawn to the couple holding the mattress on the top of their car because once my husband and I did something similar and equally foolish. We bought a kids swimming pool and realized we had no other way to get it home, so we desperately held onto it. It was a dumb thing to do and I'm really glad it didn't blow off, but we still laugh about that:)

So cute and very creative! My favorite is the leg photo after knee replacement, I am a nurse and I know a lot of people that would get a kick out of that!

Is there no end to your talents?! I agree with some of the others here...you may have a card collection in your future. I can just picture the "Debbie Section" being the most popular in the store. :)

Hi Debbie,

These are great, and you are too funny! :-D

It's hard to choose a favorite, but I think I'll have to go with the first pic. That leg reminds me of the lamp in "A Christmas Story."

How did you ever get the picture of the couple holding the mattress and springs on top of their car? I think Jeff Foxworthy could use that one; "you might be a redneck if..."

Visiting from Vee's Note Card Party. Have a great day!!

I think these are just great. I'm thinking I would rather have one of your funny cards if I was under the weather than a card with a flower. Hmmm....a leg in a garbage can or a bouquet of flowers. I know which one would make me laugh and laughter is the best medicine, right?

The Polka Dot Closet said...

I always laugh when I come here!! Love the leg in the garbage! Maybe you could caption it.."I couldn't stand her nagging!"
