My kitchen table...
Salad plates found at the ReStore back in February were the
peppermint inspiration.
Apple green chargers replaced my old evergreen ones.
Stemware borrowed from the Duchess.
Place cards for no good reason.
Made from one dollar ornaments.
Candy cane candlesticks.
(Say that one 3X fast.)
Admit it.
You just tried.
You just tried.
Salt and pepper shakers from Cracker Barrel.
And a decoupaged salad fork.
It works fine. You just have to wash it by hand.
~That's why I didn't do the whole set.~
It works fine. You just have to wash it by hand.
~That's why I didn't do the whole set.~
And there you have it.
A quick tour of the kitchen table,
and I did it in less than 100 words.
It's the first miracle of Christmas!
I shall celebrate with some well earned visits with my invisible friends in Blog Land.

Hahahahaha...you're a hoot! Such a festive, cheerful table!
Love everything about it! Super festive and cute. Love the salad fork, glasses, and candle holders...well all of it really. : )
Sigh. It looks soooo sweeeet. Still can't even SEE my table, hanging my head in shame (well really it's hanging because I'm tired :) ).
(())
Oh my goodness I think that table setting was just gorgeous. So exquisite - you could invite the Queen over! Christmas is full of miracles isn't it?

Cute and festive table as always Debbie. I don't know why I am so behind when we had extra time and everything ~ so I'll make my comment short too!

I love peppermint!!! So of course I love your table decor! Now I'm craving a peppermint mocha. :)
P.S. Thank you for your kind comments on my blog. And, as for the link on your sidebar, I am truly humbled. Blessings!
Such a "sweet" table. I can't believe the deals you find on stuff. Well, and you're the queen of decoupage. I might just have to steal your idea. Of course then I'd have to steal some of your stuff, too. Well, borrow maybe, stealing is wrong. Great table. I loved everything on it.
Who couldn't feel happy at a table that sweet?! Love it!
~Kelley
Thank you for your kind comments. I agree with you that Renee has great recipes. What a fun and vibrant table for the holidays. I am totally crushing on your salad plates and the flatware! Very whimsical. Joni
Adorable! Debbie, you just amaze me with decopouge...a fork, really! It is all so cute, but I have to say I am so going to rip off the candy cane candleholder idea for my gingerbread table. Thanks for sharing.
Love it, as usual! I'd forgotten about your candy cane candlesticks...I can't even say it once without tripping over my tongue....I did try it one yeay. Not as nice as yours!
Cheers!
I love it! It's perfect. :)

You are just so much fun, with or without words! :)
Just great as always....so much fun, so cute, and so creative.
From your not invisible or imaginary blogging friend!!
That's a very cute table Debbie! Love what you did with the forks:@)
YES! I did try to say it...how did you know?! It was the first time I've been tongue-tied today! (Thought I'd throw in a little alliteration there, just for the frolic festive fun of it - try to say that one).
This is an adorable tablescape. Just adorable. It had all the elements of you - decorative, creative, decoupage, and inexpensive. I am a particular fan of the edible candle holder. (It IS edible, right?)
And, less than 100 words? Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus.
Thanks for the holiday smile you gave to me today!
xo
Now, you simply HAVE TO do a decoupage flatware tutorial. PLEEEEEEASE. Maybe after the holidays, when things are started to settle down???
I'm pressing you on this one.
Lov the candy tablescape. Nice job all around.
Adorable, very festive! And concise!! xo
I love it, Debbie! It's fun & whimsical & festive all in one!
There are so many things that I love here, I don't think I can mention them all!
What a wonderful collection of peppermint-themed goodies! Your table is winsome and will make any and all guests smile in delight! The salad forks put it over the top!
Bright and cheery just like our favorite yakker!
What is it about peppermint that is just so cheerful? Thanks for sharing this happy table. I'm glad I didn't miss it -- and now I'm off to get started on creating a little Christmas cheer of my own around this old house ... with a peppermint-inspired smile on my face. Thanks, friend!
What a fun and festive tablescape! Hugs and blessings, Cindy
Bravo, Debbie, on the 'scape, but I love your yakking!
Very clever ideas, indeed. Very, VERY clever. And I got a kick out of the reason for only doing one fork. :-)
Okay, I'll keep it short, too, since I'm supposed to be out of here and gone to St. Augustine. 'Supposed to' being the operative phrase.
Love,
Sheikla (yes, that's my new name or the one I typed on Claudia's blog... see, she has teeny tiny print that my eyes just don't see!)
Debbie, what a fun table...great dishes and flatware that match! Those peppermint candlesticks are my favorites. I LOVE it all!!
Wait a minute, wait a minute...you decoupaged those forks yourself??!?! What the what?!?!??!?!! You GO, girl! That is something you could never sit me down still long enough to accomplish! They look like you bought them that way! Wow...great job! They work so beautifully with the plates and the other decor, too!!! And did you MAKE the place card holders from the ornaments and the candy cane candlesticks?!! (Yes, I admit I tried to say it fast!) You're killin' me here, woman! The candlesticks are just SO cute!!! What a fun idea! This is such a festive table...perfect for the Christmas season!!! Gosh, I wish I understood how to do that Pinterest thing so I could pinterest a couple of these photos!!! You really kicked it!!!
No words needed, Debbie, your gifts, talents and love shine through in your tablescape. I just love decorating with candy canes! And the bargains you find are wonderful, I need to skip down to GA. and go shopping with you. Please say hello to the Duchess for me, I too have missed your blogposts, but like you have been so busy. Thanks for sharing.
Much love,
Sue
Cute, cute, cute!!! You are always so creative, love it all! Did you paint the napkin rings too?
I did TWO posts today! (Trying to make up for lost time.) One is a tablescape, the other my door and outside decor.
Merry Christmas!
Katherine
Super, super cute! Love that decoupaged salad fork! They just make the place settings extra fun.
Candy cane forks - how cool is that? I love your decorations.
Debbie~ I always arrive & leave with a smile on my face! Love your candy cane restore-inspired theme! Your decoupaged forks are amazing~ they look like they're printed!
I love it all, dear blogging friend. So perfect for the season.
Thanks for your continued prayers, from my heart.
Candy cane forks.. how clever. You could do just the forks or the knives and then wash them and the next dinner have a completely different set.. I love it. I do love the candy cane candlestick. Type it once.. ouch! This is a gorgeous table.. xo marlis
I love this, Debbie. It looks so much fun. The candy stripe theme is adorable...Christine
Hi Debbie,
I really like your posts when you DON'T cut your words short, but I do understand how it is for everyone this time of year. :)
This is the CUTEST table. I just told Mary that I love her candy canes in her lantern, and you have a whole table of candy cane colors and patterns. Love it!!! The salad plates are great, and the dinner plates are beautiful. I love the candy cane candlesticks (you're right I did try to say it three times), the ornament place card holders, and the sherbets filled with peppermint candies. I wish I had gotten those salt and peppers when I saw them at our Cracker Barrel; they look so cheerful and pretty on your table.
This is a merry and bright Christmas tablescape, Debbie; thanks for sharing it with us. Have a wonderful week!
Denise
I just love your table Debbie!! It is so fun and festive even though it reminds me once again how jealous I am of all you people who have Cracker Barrels. ;-) I can look past that though and say well done!
Vanessa
I love, love, love your table, Debbie!
LOOOVE the candy theme! I have candy dishes too and have done several table with them. Love the candle holders and the place card holders! I want to know how you did the salad forks!!! XO, Pinky
You are just the craftiest, most table brightening soul I know!! Wishing you and yours the merriest of Christmases, Debbie!! xoxo ~ tanna
ahhhh what a fun table. I love all the whimsy and delight.
What a fun table, Debbie. I love every single candie stripe on this table, and what a deal on those cute salad plates. Who, but you, would think to decoupage a fork? I love it! You used your words well, and still made me smile with only a few words. laurie
Ok I'll admit it. I said it. :)
Completely and utterly enchanting!
You are such a clever and creative elf.
Have a holly jolly day!
Beautifully festive, Debbie!
I can only imagine myself trying to make that candy cane candlestick.
You are so funny and I adore your personality.
I am taking part of your post that is closed to comments. If you don't want me to, come over and tell it to my face. :)))
Your words are amazing, Debbie..
Love, love, loving the bright green and red Debbie. It makes me want to sing, "FUN-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la!"
Delightful! Such a festive mix!
