It's Always Something...

Just in case anyone out there is wondering, I'm nearly finished with the Great Kitchen Adventure, at least for now. The counter arrived on Friday, and then the plumber showed up to take whatever cash I had left.

Whew.

We still need to paint baseboard and the table and chairs, but I was planning to blog the pictures anyway. Frankly, I would like to get my blife back.

But...

Apparently, something has happened to the shiny red Kodak...

...who is technically Son of Shiny Red Kodak.
This will be the second camera I've killed in two years.

Fortunately, even though I'm a convicted camera killer, the Farm Sister has entrusted me with the loan of hers. I will be taking some pictures when the sun comes up.

In the meantime, I am going to jump back into Blogville by joining
The Note Card Party
at
A Haven for Vee

All you need to join is a set of four previously posted pictures and (for me) a theme. This month, my theme reflects the recent song that is stuck in my head.

I'm looking over a four leaf clover
That I overlooked before...

One leaf is sunshine

The second is rain.

Third is the flowers that grow in the lane

And there is no need explaining
the one remaining
is Somebody I adore

I'm looking over a four leaf clover.
That I overlooked before.

See you tomorrow.
Unless the power goes out or something.

You've always got a song in your heart, don't you? Sorry about the camera but LOVE your post with previous pictures today. Such great descriptions...especially the last one. Hope to see the kitchen post up later.

How glad I am that you took some time off from the kitchen redo to join in with the Note Card Party. (Can't wait to see the big reveal.) A lovely theme you've created and a lovely ear worm, too! We sure need to find spring where we can these days with all the new snow in our corner. Thanks so much!

Good morning! Glad your kitchen adventure is almost over! I am anxious for those pics, so yay to borrowing a camera. LOVE the pictures. And I am not sure which one most. I think the first as it is soo pretty. What kind of tress are those? I LOVE them! Enjoy your day!

You are in remarkable good spirits for someone who is enduring a kitchen remodel and suffering pangs of guilt from killing a 2nd camera, LOL. You're photo illustrations of the song are quite clever! Love that tablescape in the first photo. It's the deep blue eggs that draw me into the frame.

Kodak Easy Share? I went through 2 myself. When the lens refused to retract on the first one, I thought it was my fault for shoving it in my crowded purse without turning it off. However, when it happened again for no reason, I googled. Common issue. Advice said to "slam it on the floor" and it should fix itself. It did . . . The first 10 times. I found it so easy to use, I went for number three. Unfortunately, Kodak has discontinued digital cameras. I upgraded to a fancy touch screen Nikon that is smarter than me and very frustrating. Within weeks of purchasing this $200 camera, I was unable to plug in the cord to charge it and found it would cost $50 to send it in to see if they could even fix it. I did find one last Easy Share at Big Lots for $35 (less than the postage cost) and that is what I am using for now.

After all that - I CAN'T WAIT to see the kitchen!!!!

Glad to see a post from you and know you've survived the Great Kitchen Redo! I love the Four Leaf Clover song -- brings back great memories of singing it on long car trips when I was a kid.

We've missed you! I, personally, think you have a knack for NOT overlooking the four-leafed clover. Been thinking about you, my friend. Hope you have a wonderful first day of spring!

I'm glad your kitchen woes didn't prevent you from taking part in the party. Love the photos. The first one with the robin's egg blue accents is beautiful. The last is thought-provoking.

I relate to the camera woes ~ but your pictures are so lovely that I think you are using something other than a shiny red kodak:-) The picture of the Bradfords is stunning, but probably my camera woes are operator induced. Looking forward to seeing your kitchen and the fruits of all your hard work.

Lol, love the tune, now it's stuck in my head! Very lovely images Debbie, now I have to read more of your blog to find out about the great kitchen caper. We've had the great 100yr old fir flood disaster here so maybe we can commiserate. (Huge wind storm here this evening, completely expecting the power to go out any minute)

I am so proud for you to be almost finished with such a big project! I also am a little green, as my do it yourself project has taken a BIG pause, and I don't seem in a hurry to get on with it again... so I'll celebrate your finish line with you and just hope that I get my 'mo-jo'(what does that word mean anyway??) back and finish mine!
