A Merry Duchess Christmas and a Happy Birthday Too!

Somebody's having a birthday today!

And her name  isn't Debbie.

My birthday has come and gone, just like the rest of Christmas season...

and the rest of December...
and the rest of November...
and most of October too.

I really and truly tried to get back into Blog Land. You have no idea how many times I tried.
I thought I might get the groove again in time to celebrate Thanksgiving,
but the next thing I knew,
it was time to do this.

And a whole lot of this

And for reasons which will remain unyakked,
I kinda needed a bit of this

And some of  this

(Pssst... I'm the one on the left.)

But Suddenly,

I woke from my sugar stupor and discovered that if I procrastinated a visit to Blog Land for one more day, I would miss the opportunity to yak abroad a very auspicious occasion to the world wide web.

Or at least to the three people still around to read here...

What a blockhead!

Not to worry. There is time to rectify the situation before the clock strikes midnight.  Besides, there's really only  one person who needs to see this post anyway, the one whose birthday we're celebrating today, the one who created this Christmas scene.

  Happy 75th Birthday to
 The Duchess,
the single most giving and creative
Christmas lady I know.

I'm so proud that you are my mom!

And yes,  I'll 'fess up  to the shameless ulterior motive
of showing her house this year before it's too late.

Admit it.
You're doing the  Peanuts Dance
and  singing,  "Hark the Herald Angels Sing."
Aren't you?

A very Happy Birthday to the Duchess!! My mom's 81st was Christmas Day!

We are so very lucky to have our moms, aren't we? Special ladies who have taught us so much. Please give your mom a big hug from CA - may this year be her very best!

Good to see you here, friend. Walk-on cameo appearance, or a comeback?? :-)

YAY! It's great seeing you back, even if only for a short visit. I was traveling yesterday and didn't get you new post email until this morning, so I'm already a day late wishing the Duchess a very Happy Birthday, but hopefully she'll know the wishes are as sincere as they come. I hope the year ahead is filled with as much joy for her as her delightful Christmas scenes are for her viewers. What a talented lady! Debbie, thanks for sharing yourself - and your Mama - with us!

Oh, Happy-Happy Birthday, dear Duchess - and Joy-Joy dear Deb that you're back in Blogland! I have missed you so very much!! Love the Peanuts vignettes - did your mom create all of them freehand? What a clever and creative lady and mentor in your life. You are cast from the same mold, I daresay. So glad you took the time from your busy to share this. My hiatus may be another week - hubby home this week and our anniversary. However, I do have some Christmas joy-joy I wanted to post and don't want to get into January when everyone's ready to move on before I do it. May try to do something this week - then - back to my routine. It's a discipline I am seeking to perfect.

Happy New Year to you and yours and I hope you're be back to a posting routine soon, too!
