Along the Way, Take Time...

Well, here it is.  It's a mere 15 days after jumping back into Blog Land, and I'm already lagging behind. I'm behind in my writing and behind in my reading.  The house needs dusting, and there is a load of clothes in the dryer waiting to be folded. Out in the garage, the cars are protesting because of the boxes of Christmas schtuff which have yet to make it to the attic.

And what's worse? Once again, I'll be the last guest to arrive at the
 at A Haven for Vee.

Because I lack balance, that's why...

I hate to shush people, but... Shhhh, people! I'm working on it.  It's my whole theme of 2014, in fact. Before I box 2013 into the blog archives forever, though, I wanted to leave you with a final remembrance of the theme from last year.

Starring the Shiny Red Kodak.

(posted HERE)

Actually, that's Shiny Red Kodak, Sr. He kicked the bucket a few years ago and was replaced by Son of Shiny Red Kodak. He likes the drive- by  just as much as his daddy did, and his very favorite reason to slow down last year was a little pop of red.

Like little red berries

and little red shacks

and little red bridges.

And there you have it, the first note card(s) of 2014.

And if in so doing, you lag just a little behind, is that really such a big deal?

No, I don't think so either.

Son of Shiny Red Kodak does a fine job. I agree --nothing like a pop of red.

Better late than never, my friend. I'm behind in my writing and reading too, and I'm starting to stress about it. Seriously. In addition, I still have tons to do around the house.

How funny -- Son of Shiny Red Kodak. :-D I love that!! He does take good pictures. I love the field of sunflowers and the red bridge best. The bridge is reminiscent of Monet, and you captured the reflection in the water. Beautiful, Debbie! These are great note cards, and I'm glad you made it to the party!

Hugs to you,

Denise

Awww...never make blogging a job...take a few days here and there, write and visit without obligation, do what makes you feel lovely...all advice I've received from others and so I merely pass it on.

I love these note cards! With the exception of the Spanish moss, I might see similar scenes in my corner. I am especially fond of the little cabin. I suppose in summer, it might be completely hidden from view.

Lovely bits of red! They make wonderful cards.

And since today is the actual day of the Note Card Party, how can you be late?

You're in good company when it comes to being behind...I hope that bring you comfort. We just have to do what we can Debbie. BTW red is my favorite.

Okay, so, - I'm the last to post just under you at Vee's party and WOW! If I had seen your post before I put mine up, I might have given it a pass. You are a pro, girl - and I loved every word and RED in the viewfinder. Pop on over to mine - I have ONE red for you. Mine is all about snow - it's what I had going. And, as to the balance thing. Welcome to business as usual. Yeah - it's a routine - just goes with the territory of being super duper Creative! Go for it and watch out - too much balance can shave your creative thinking to baldness. Don't lose your hair over undone dishes.
Joy!

Good morning! Loved these pics! But then you always take such good ones. If I thought there were any rules to blogging (how often to post or read etc.) I'd have been out long ago. I am one of those Vee mentions...I do what works for me, lol. I am TRYING to keep a journal of my life to leave behind in books for my grandkids some day....IF they should be interested...Notice how bit the IF is? lol Enjoy your day!

Perhaps I am soooo out of it, I was going to comment that since jumping back in, you are really knocking out posts. Lol. I am still dragging the feet getting a laptop, although now my Fairy Blogmother tells me that if I get the Blogger app I can blog successfully on the iPain. Although Apple store personnel told me no. Oh well, I guess I can give it a try. Stop worrying about blogging, just enjoy it! Do what you can when you can and relax. We are pretty much all In the same boat, except the high octanes who must be on a drug of some kind. Lol.

I love year-round pops of red, so please don't go totally taupe on me this year, okay? ;-) You chose a great collection for Vee's party!

Favorite picture is the rear mirror shot!

All the pops of red in your photos make me want to get out with my camera and look for colour, too. January always seems like such a monochromatic month to me - grey, grey, grey. The cabin in the woods looks like it would be a great place to spend a weekend reading by the fire.

Love the pictures! But really, I'm cheating a little because I'm here to say that your Sunday post blessed me and made me glad to be your friend (however "invisible") but you always close comments on the posts that make me want to have your number so I can call you and tell you how amazing you are :)

Hi Debbie,

Red is probably my favourite colour, as I've been fond of it since I was a little girl. But today, I am taken with your yellow, and those beautiful sunflowers in that pretty field! They are gathered like a thousand little happy suns!

Your images are absolutely beautiful. I really like the first and second one. I too use a Kodak (Easy Share C190). Nothing fancy, but it works for me!

Thanks for popping by my post and leaving such a kind comment. I have a Canon DSLR as well as a point and shoot of the same brand. I pick up the point and shoot far more often than I should, but they do take great photos.
Your note cards are lovely, and I'm intrigued by the shack - does someone live there?
Better late than never! ;-)

Well, Shiny Red Kodak, Jr. does a beautiful job of following in his father's footsteps. I love that picture of the old red shack in the water. I lag behind all of the time, and have almost reached the point where it doesn't bother me. I've accepted it as a fact of my life. laurie

Lovely Note Cards Debbie!
A fun post and so clever of you looking for that "pop" of red even with a field of sunflowers!!!
That's a great idea for a challenge 'to look for red where it's not expected'!!!
I'll give it a go.

Almost missed this terrific post today and wouldn't that have been a shame. All the cards are great with a pop of color but I think my favorite is the berries. You really have quite an eye for photography. Thanks for sharing.

OK...the Oscar goes to........
WORD ON WHEELS for the most beautiful of NOTE CARDS.
I do love these photos. You did a fine job on them.
And, your red camera has a cousin living at Sweet Nothings, in West Texas. Small world, after all....:)

It took me a whole hour just rolling down this comment list to comment...LOL!!! And you were worried you would lose followers.
These pictures are just great! I love red! I love your words at the end. I even noticed your fingernails...which means mine are so neglect, I need to get off here and paint them!
Hugs!

YAY - I don't care when you show up in Blog Land - I just love seeing and visiting you! These beautiful photos just *poppy* with color. Kodak, Sr. left a great legacy.

As for balance, no worries - I'm working on my JOY, too!!

I do hope lagging behind is not a big deal because I've been doing a lot of that myself lately. :)

Thanks for sharing those little pops of color. They brightened my day.

Very pretty notecards! I especially like the red bridge. If I ever have a creek or something that needs a bridge I'll remember to paint it red!

It's not lagging if you are enjoying the view and smelling the roses. I have heard of a book called, "Wasting Time With God." Maybe we should read it?

I think the most important thing is to not give up when we lag behind... I must have gotten that lesson a million times in my life... but, I still have to remember it. God always gives us enough. Always. Even when it feels like we are running out of time, out of energy, out of interest, out of hope sometimes. We always have enough. You reminded me of this today. Thank you, dear peep. blessings and hugs ~ tanna

Debbie, thanks for your visit to Thinking About Home and for your sweet words! Yes, I was late to show up to Vee's party...and now I'm late to comment. I was born three weeks late and my mother says I never caught up. (True.)

I love your note cards! Red is my favorite color...and your images are fabulous! Each one is a work of art.

LOVE your pictures!

I need to occasionally "stop along the way" and take pictures! I wonder how many times I've said "I wish I had my camera with me"?

The bridge pic is suitable for framing! Love it!

So glad you are back!

Cheers!
