Worth a Thousand Words

There's an old Spanish proverb  that says,
Don't speak unless you can improve the silence

I'm claiming that proverb as the reason
that you haven't heard much from me this week.

Honestly, I didn't have anything worthwhile to say.

On top of that, I've been in the closet.

After taking Whimsy back to college this weekend, I embarked on the Great Closet Adventure that I yakked about at the beginning of the month.  Had there been a single interesting tidbit to share about that closet adventure, I would have shared it. So far, though, it hasn't been all that yakkable.  I'll let you know if anything changes.

So in place of my usual thousand words, I'm jump starting my blog engines with a few pictures instead.

That's because it's time  for one of my favorite blog parties of the month,
the Note Card Party at
 A Haven for Vee.

Note card choices this month were inspired by my theme for 2012.

Now, my color of the year is yellow...

But  my theme for the year is
Finding the Sunshine.

Every once in a while, I manage to find a little of that sunshine on the table.

I think these little sun catchers would make lovely cards, don't you?

Maybe with a note of encouragement for someone who needs to
 find a little sunshine too.

So this morning, that's what I'm doing.

Because maybe, just maybe, that someone is you.

So tell me, where have you found the sunshine lately?

What a beautiful set of notecards these would make! I especially like the first one.

Sunshine? I was blessed to find it last week in the belly laugh of a 4-mo-old and a 3-yr-old's fabulous sense of humor ... and this week as "the real deal" streamed through my 100-year-old windows and landed on freshly-washed antique linens. Thanks for asking me to take time to reflect on that this morning. I might have missed the full extent of the gifts.

Debbie,
These cards are beautiful! Your tablescapes are always inspired.
Yellow is my favorite color, and yes, I'm finding plenty of sunshine this year!
The first card with the flowers in the teacup is gorgeous, the Ann Voskamp tablescape is divine.

Debbie, you do such lovely, creative tablescapes; and you definitely chose four pretty pics for your note cards! I love them all so much, I couldn't pick a favorite. This makes me want to do a tablescape right now! (Well, maybe not right this second, but you know what I mean). :)

Each of these photos is so lovely and would make a wonderful note card indeed. My favorite is the one with the book. I am just about finished with a few of my summer reads and liked the looks (title) of this one. I googled it, and found out it sounds like just the right fit for where I am right now. Thank you! You are one of those one thousands gifts! Love the sun reflection in these photos. So pretty!

Debbie, such great tables or are they vignettes? I love the sunshine when it comes through clear glass. Sunshine is sometimes very illusive. Recently, I found sunshine while touring the civil war battlefield of Fredericksburg, VA.'s a busy town, but there at the cemetary surrounding the battlefield, I found serenity as I walked through the graves and felt such sorrow for these young soldiers...it was just me and a little bunny, and somehow through the sadness I found sunshine. O, Debbie, your photos are just PERFECT for note cards. I sure would buy 3...no, 6 boxes of these. :)

We do have sunshine around here...to the tune of 3 digit temps...and no rain in sight. My flowers are fried, my lawn is past fried...and my spirit is waning....WE NEED WATER. :)
I would dearly LOVE having 4 photos of GREAT THUNDERSTORMS for next month NOTE CARD party. :)

Well, I have to say we are having a little too much sunshine lately, but that's what you get living so close to the desert...
Otherwise, my sunshine has been found in reading Jesus Calling. Nothing better than being redirected back to the One who made the Sun shine...
