Because He Rocks, That's Why

So guess what Sir Lotsa Hair brought home
from his business travel last week...

Porch rockers.

Really nice ones, too,
 from Cracker Barrel.

There's only one thing I like better than a Cracker Barrel rocker, and that's a practically new Cracker Barrel rocker  being sold for half the cost of a brand new one.

Ka-Ching!
The man knows how to ring my bell.

Of course, when you're looking for a bargain, you can't be Miss Picky.
These were stained, and I wanted white ones
for the newly redone front porch.

But that was nothing a paint brush and four hands couldn't solve .

Then, I threw on some sunflowers.

Yes, I realize that sunflowers are kind of summery.

But I checked the calendar and the thermometer,
and the three of us came to a consensus.

It's still summer.

Plus, I already had those pillows.

They go with the rest of  stuff on the porch.

Plus, sunflowers will take me well into September without looking stupid out there. That gives me time to work on the fall porch between now and fall...

... which isn't here yet. Just thought I would say that one more time.

And now, at least one side of the newly painted front porch
doesn't look quite so nekkid.

One side down, one to go.

So that's what I did this past weekend.
 How about you?

I LOVE those rockers!!! Do you get to sit out and enjoy them? And the sunflowers are perfect. It is still summer here too!

Absolutely LOVE the rockers on that beautiful new front porch. The sunflower pillows are perfect for August in HOT south GA. The calendar may say summer ends in September but the temps will certainly not reflect an end to the dog days around here.

Your front porch is rocking hot!!

You have the picturesque Southern home curb appeal - love it. Actually - works up here in the Northeast & parts of New England, too. Actually - anyone with good taste and style would be gaga over your home refit. Wish I could sip a cuppa sweet tea in one of these rockers with you - listening to you meander . . .
Joy!

Funny, I never look to sunflowers as summery at all...I never decorate with sunflowers till true cool fall.

I love those pillows there, keep them there a nice long while...because it is STILL summer for sure, haha. : - )

The sunflowers are a great accent for this time of year. When I managed a floral shop we sold more sunflowers in August, Sept, and October than at any other time of year. They mix wonderfully with the fall colors! I love the rocking chairs too. I wish I had room for 2 on my porch, but I don't want them blocking my view out the window from inside. So, I make do with only 1. Tell the Mr. He made a great find. I believe he should be rewarded.

Bringing home those rockers was sweet in so many ways! And they are perfect! I am picturing myself out there with you, a glass of iced coffee (or sweet tea?) in hand, and wok-wokking to our heart's delight!

After all, isn't that what summer (!) is all about?!

love when my Sweetie brings good stuff home too. over the week end we went for a ride and I procrastinated as usual ... hope all is well with the Duchess (())

Heck, yes, it's still summer!!! We have more than a month of it left on the calendar, and here in the Midwest we can count on that and maybe a little bit more! Sunflowers start to pop up around here toward the end of summer and into the early part of fall, so we consider sunflowers to be both a summer AND a fall flower. (I think I do because the color just goes so great with stuff for both seasons!)

You guys did a bang up job on the painting, and the rockers do indeed rock! Enjoy yourselves out there!

Now that's just pretty! I love your front door!

What a great deal on those rockers! We always have a turn in the rockers when we go to Cracker Barrel!

The Decorative Dreamer said...

Perfect! I couldn't agree with you more. There is nothing better then a Cracker Barrel rocker. I don't have them because of those list prices and have never ever seen any for resale around here. You is blessed lady! LOL! I am on the hunt for some really large black urns to put by the front door for ferns and whatnot. I've pulled away a few things and redoing the stylings out there just a bit. We share some of the same front porch love!
