By the looks of things in Blogville,
most of you had a blessed and busy Easter weekend.
Ours was quieter than usual.
For a variety of reasons which will remain unyakked, our nests weren't completely full.
In fact, between the Farm Sister and I, we ended up
two chicks short of a brood this year.
That could have put a damper on the weekend, but we didn't let it.
No way...
We not only had Easter to celebrate,
but a birthday as well.
but a birthday as well.
Miss Whimsy turned 21 years old.
I know.
I'm as shocked as you are...
So Saturday, we celebrated with a little chick party in her honor.
The benefits of being born during Peep Season...
It was supposed to be a ladies lunch, but we had a change of plans. In the end, we ate at twilight and allowed the Man of the Place to join us, provided he left that bottle of snickering testosterone on the shelf.
He complied.
Linens came from TJMaxx a few years ago.
The tablecloth belongs to me, and the napkins to the Farm Sister.
I think this is the first time they have ever been used together.
Chargers were painted white Fusion and then again with Valspar's Tropical Foliage. I can't tell you how much I use them during the year.
Old faithful Italian Countryside...
Older and even more faithful Act I flatware.
Heavy-duty cut glass stemware. I really love that stuff.
A bowl full of pink and white azaleas from the yard.
And that's about it.
I actually had a recipe to share with this post,
but we ate all the pictorial evidence.
Oops...
Maybe next time.
Until then, I hope you all have a great day and are enjoying a little
long awaited springtime.

I enjoyed all your amazing photos...the table is so pretty. I am enjoying springtime, I need it
How fun to celebrate your baby turning 21. Isn't it amazing how fast that happens? Your table is so pretty, I love the plaid tablecloth. I think your shiny red Kodak takes great pictures. Every detail is perfect, as always.
Sounds like a fun weekend! What a great way to celebrate a birthday - with a Peep party! I love those things.
Your table was simply beautiful, as always. I can't believe those flowers were from your yard. Gorgeous!
And I love how you've got the chicks peeking out of the eggshells. I just might steal this idea if you don't mind. :)
Finally! A W.O.W. table to behold and a birthday to celebrate. I canNOT believe it either: 21. You all deserved this very fun break, indeed. You did it up delightfully!
My maternal grandmother was born on Easter Sunday 101 years ago (April 7, 1912). She was promptly named Easter, too. I LOVE it!
Happy week!
Kelley~
Love the little chicks in their half shells.
Hi Debbie so glad to hear from you. Alycia has been a great blogger friend. She has helped through a lot. We email often. I love the pastels and the pink flowers and the green dishes makes it pop. It is still cold here. 28 degrees here. Tried to snow yesterday. Hurry Spring enough is enough.
We certainly enjoyed our chick dinner and I'm hoping Miss Whimsy enjoyed her celebration. Twenty wonderful years of blessing if I do say so myself.
Your table was really pretty. I can't believe we haven't used those linens together until now. Wasn't it nice that the azaleas decided to wait until now to bloom? Usually they're about spent by now. In spite of the small crowd, everything was wonderful. Thanks for letting us join in on the fun.
Happy Birthday to Miss Whimsy! Love your table, love the joint effort with dishes and linens. xo
Hi Miss Debbie!
Your table looks just lovely!!! Boy would I love to have those linens -- such a pretty pattern with all the pastel colors of spring. The "hatched" Peeps are so cute in their nest of green grass. :) Your stemware is beautiful, as are the plates, chargers, and flatware. You always have such pretty arrangements of Azaleas in the spring; those are the perfect centerpiece for your girly table.
Happy Birthday to Miss Whimsy! How did our little ones grow up so quickly? I'm glad you had a blessed Easter and a sweet family birthday dinner.
XO,
Denise
What a sweet tablescape. Love those little peeps. And the azaleas. So lovely.
Happy 21st to your girl! Can you believe my baby is turning 30 next week? How can that be since I'm only 39?!
I just love your beautiful table settings. Even a pretend tea party would be fun at your table.
I love your tablescapes! This one was a particularly beautiful Spring setting - the pastel colors were very pretty. And the little chicks popping out of their eggs? Adorable!
Happiest Birthday to Miss Whimsy! May God richly fill her life this year with His richest blessings!!
(Know what you mean about the age thing with our kids. My oldest just turned 30 - quite a feat considering his mom is only 29...still)
XO

Happy Birthday to Miss Whimsy! Peep season is a great time for a birthday and to have chick party along with an Easter celebration! Love your pretty pastel plaid tablecloth & napkins and of course your Peeps :)
Happy birthday to Miss Whimsy! That is such a beautiful table! I love the peeps in the eggs ...too cute!
Your tables are always so pretty and this is no exception! The little chick hatching out of the egg is sooo adorable! The azaleas are the perfect spring time flower for your table.
Happy Birthday to Miss Whimsy! My girl turned 21 in February and I can hardly believe it!
You are such a fabulous table scaper!! I love a spring table....So did Mr testosterone stay in line?? Happy birthday to Miss Whimsey!!!

Love your table! What a cute idea to use cracked egg shells for the chicks! Clever!
love the table decor. so fun. so springy. i love spring 2nd best. so awesome!! ( :
My Lindsay turned 21 this year too! What?! Crazy!
Your table is beautiful! I'll have to think about painting my chargers. They were inexpensive and are a wierd red. I love red but these are odd and I don't use them much because of it.
Oh, and I LOVE Italian Countryside! Beautiful!
Happy Spring!
Deanna
Wow, Debbie, what a wonderful birthday celebration for Miss Whimsy! I love what you did to your chargers, which look so pretty with the tablecloth and napkins. The azaleas make the perfect centerpiece and the peeps are the cutest accessory.
What a sweet and beautiful table.
I love the colors you are using here and love your dishes.
Happy Birthday to your girl....:)
I love the way that last little chick is sort of peeping out with his nose resting against the shell! It's like, "I had to fight my way out of this thing. I'm tired. Give me a minute!" :-)
You set a beautiful and very soft table for the big 21 celebration! I remember seeing that pretty plaid at TJMaxx awhile back. I almost bought it, but there were no rounds. I should have just bought the oblong and let it be! It looks great on your table with your sister's napkins! The azaleas are the perfect crowning touch. Just the right color of pink, and so fluffy!
Glad the hubs was able to join you! I know it can be difficult for them to get with the program and put a lid on the machismo sometimes! :-) Happy 21 to Miss Whimsy, and Happy Spring to you all!!!!
It sounds like you had a wonderful Easter even without part of the family away. Beautiful tablescape, love the colors of table cloth, flowers and dishes. Love all the Easter details. Happy Spring.
~Emily
The French Hutch
Love your spring table and the stemware. Our Easter was quietier this year also. Happy 21st to your daughter! :)
Soooo cute, Debbie. Loved gong to the birthday party and please tell your 21 year old spring chick that Mrs. Magpie wishes her all the best!
XO,
Sheila
Glad you enjoyed your girly meal, the table looks lovely and the must have been good if you didn't have time to take a picture before it was gone.
Merle......
Beautiful table, Debbie. Are the chargers wood or ceramic? I love provided he left that bottle of snickering testosterone on the shelf.!
Happy Birthday to the Birthday Girl! I think I first met her when she was just a young teen.. how time flies. Love the table... so simple but yet so elegant. I look forward to each of your blogs... thanks for sharing.
~Darla
very pretty and Eastery! Happy Birthday to the young lady.
Can you hear me laughing??? "but we ate all the pictorial evidence" Only you.
This is a beautiful table for that special birthday girl. Very creative use of the marshmallow peeps.
I think your sister should leave you her napkins or you should give her your tablecloth. They belong together!!!
Hugs,
Rett
Love the way you used the Peep coming out of the shell, clever ideas. I'll have to remember that one. I used the same tablecloth from Home Goods. Love the pastel colors.
What a special birthday. Our son just turned 21 on March 16. I got married at 21. Goodness, what was my mom thinking letting me get married so young. :)
Oh, yes, we are most definitely enjoying some long-awaited Springtime! In fact, I played hooky from housework this afternoon and went to the farm. (Tomorrow I have to play catch-up!)
I rarely do tables with pastels, but you've done it very successfully! I really love that "you and yours" can play in the dishes together... and what better occasion than a daughter's 21st birthday! Happy birthday and best wishes to Miss Whimsy for a fantastic year!
Happy 21st Birthday to Miss Whimsy! Your table is lovely. I need a sister to swap and share with! Knew I was missing something with only brothers! lol Your azaleas are beautiful and I am glad you had a nice Easter despite the chick shortage.
Debbie, you are so gifted at so many things but your tablescapes are just incredible.
That is one area for sure that I am NOT gifted in so I really appreciate those that are.
So good to have you back blogging again.
Sure missed you!
Debbie, this is so pretty. I can't believe those napkins and that tablecloth weren't purchased as a set. Just goes to show, you and your sister have the same taste, and you apparently both have beautiful taste. I love the peeps popping out of the eggs, and the azaleas are gorgeous. You need to fill me in on how you convince the man of the house to leave the testosterone behind! He He. laurie
So adorable and unique. Love the peeps!
Debbie, thank you for being so kind to comment on my post. I have been AWOL from the blogging world...in a blue funk and it has everything to do with my husband being gone. Your springy table is so fresh looking. I love the little chicks in the eggs, as well as the tablecloth and napkins. Glad you invited your husband. Joni
Love it! Pink plaid...who needs more than that? Love how you put the peep in the egg shell.
I hope the celebration went well. Ours was overcast this year, little Thomas was missing, but we hope he had the Grand Easter egg hunt with our dear Lord.
Thanks for linking up, Deb, always a pleasure to have you join in!
What a great table and a happy birthday! I love the azaleas...they are beautiful and perfect for this table. I really like the soft colors - great job!!!
Happy Birthday, to your daughter. This is a charming table to celebrate 21 years. Love the little peep in the egg. I'm going to remember that idea. I think I have the same table cloth. It's perfect for a spring dinner party. Every detail here is delightful.
Beautiful table, Debbie!! Belated Happy Birthday to Miss Whimsy!! Blessings and hugs ~ tanna
I have never seen peeps in a shell before. It is possibly the cutest Easter decoration EVER.
Happy birthday to you and your girl. Twenty one. Pretty amazing isn't it?!!!
xoxo

Debbie,
1. My daughter, whom I refer to as Chickie, turns 21 this month also!
2. Your kitchen looks fabulous. And inspired! I have a yellow kitchen too - my favorite color for a kitchen! and the beadboard is fabulous, really, all of it is!
3. I remember the biscuit appliances of the '80s. Had a fridge, toilet, tub, sink, stove in biscuit. Dang!
Sorry you had some chicks missing, hope they will be able to get home soon. I went "up Nawth" to be with mine. Your table looks sooo pretty, inviting and fun !

Very pretty! I love the white on green and the pink thrown in is perfect. I thought about you today. I have a plain plastic liquid soap dispenser by the kitchen sink that does its job perfectly well - it just isn't very pretty to look at. I was looking at it today and thought "Debbie would give that thing a makeover in no time". I think I need to dig the Mod Podge out and look for some pretty wrapping paper and try and pretend I'm you!
Oh, how cute is the CHICK party! I love that idea, and those little peeps in the egg shells are perfection!
Gorgeous spring colors.
Happy birthday to the new lady of the house!
Hugs,
Patti
Whew! Hey, Deb! I am out of commission for a couple of weeks and I miss so much here! Your kitchen reveal was great - lots of work that has paid off, even though there are loose ends yet to complete. Love the yellow - never paid that color much mind before, but I have been seeing it a lot lately. I hear it's the new green. The biscuit toilet was a hoot! Best to you on that one. Celebrating Jesus - GLORY! And, your little chick table is precious! We had it very simple at my daughter-in-laws place in New England - while she was sick in bed with a sudden virus that knocked her completely out of action. We had crock potted the turkey the night before, but Ed and I finished things up for my son after church. She didn't dare eat a thing - poor thing. Quiet day with the grandbaby so I didn't much care that the table wasn't the thing. However, as you;'ll see in my post - vacations can really put you behind the eight ball on every other front - including catching up in Blogland! Joy!
Kathy
Such an inviting tablescape. Your family is blessed to have you.
Stopping back by to say I hope your hand is better. Mine finally stopped being painful, but now my ring finger is locking up, it unlocks after a few minutes but dang, it's painful for a few seconds. I know from experience this too shall pass, just in case it happens to you too.
