A 100th Post Party!

It’s my 100th post, and I'd like to celebrate
by going to a party...
or two!

I decided to combine this celebration with two special blog parties, one which is hosting its first party this week, and the other which is celebrating its 100th party anniversary.

Sounds like kismet to me.

Dayle at A Collection of This and That  is hosting her very first Simple Pleasures party tomorrow, and I wanted to join. For me, there are few simple pleasures as delightful as time spent conspiring with my sister. We love to plan things, and the joy of the planning is every bit as fun to us as the final product.

I love nothing more than to answer the phone and hear those four special words..
 I have an idea…

So when I saw that Susan at Between Naps on the Porch was having her 100th Tablescape Thursday celebration, and that she was asking folks to create tablescapes with an outdoor theme to celebrate, I called the sister and said…
I have an idea.

It took me about 30 seconds to convince her to go on the Great Tablescape Adventure with me. We chose her backyard as the setting for our Simple Pleasures tablescape.

(Because pleasures are even simpler when you make the mess at someone else’s house. Just a little tip…)

We decided on a cow theme. Well, of course.

We plotted and planned...

And created and conspired.

And pilfered props.

And painted prints.

And arranged flowers.

And we partied ‘til the cows came home.

How she convinced her cowboy to call his cows at that perfect time is her own secret.
He sat in his pickup and grinned for the duration of our tomfoolery.

I think watching his wife laugh
is his simple pleasure.

The cows gave us the eye as well, but I'm pretty sure they weren't grinning. Not exactly what cows want to see on a dinner table.

Call it a hunch.
A table for two.

Here’s my place setting…

And here’s hers.

We salvaged flowers from arrangements and gardens and grocery store bins.

And arranged them among vintage milk bottles pilfered from the Duchess.

These creamers belong to the Duchess too.
Part of a larger collection.

Picnic service and mason jar mugs and crafted napkin rings...

Dragged out to the lawn like we were ten years old and playing house.
All in all, a delightful afternoon.

Cow print bandanas from Hobby Lobby: $2.00
Daisies from the grocery store: about $6.00
Playing with my sister: Priceless

********
Thanks so much for sharing my 100th post adventure with me.

Please join me at Simple Pleasures and Tablescape Thursday for more simple pleasures and outdoor adventures.

I LOVE your's and your sister's cow-themed tablescape! Totally delightful, and the story was rip-roaring hilarious!! I'm not much of a tablescaper, but I'll meet you at my sister's blog party tomorrow! Don't forget to add your link once she gets Mr. Linky up and running. Could be as early as midnight CST.

Oh Debbie,
what a fun. Can you hear me laughing. Great tip to make the mess in anothers house. I have to look out who will be the lucky one, I do that next time. The cow theme is quite nice but you both did a fabulous table with it. Amazing how cute the creamer cows are looking and what a gorgeous contrast make this red to the black-white. And then the real cows! Did you serve steak? They really don't look as if the enjoy your table. But I did in every details and with the whole story. Thank you so much and give my greetings also to your sister
from the still smiling Johanna

Congratulations on 100 posts! I'm working my way there myself.
Your table {and your sister's} is so cute! Red and black is the way I decorated my whole cabin - and it's in Wisconsin, where we have lots of black and white cows. {I may copy your ideas!}
Your cows are very nice too - and arrived at just the right moment for a picture perfect tablescape.

Simply wonderful. Originating from the dairy state, this looks so fun. I don't personally have any cows but I love them.

I am celebrating 100 this week too, I got my 100th follower. I can't believe it. I am so proud of you and will spend some time browsing around.

"Love this" and may I add that you have VERY well behaved cows... Your table is SO inviting and I feel a great NEED for a HUGE glass of milk...AND I think Hubby&I will venture down to our local dairy farm for their wonderful homemade ice cream(MMMMmmmm)... This brings me back to when my 3boys(Now men), where young and we lived next to a dairy farm... Those gals LOVED to hang out in our yard, you know the old saying the grass is always greener on the other side, WELL, they TRULY believed it...My boys were little and would be posted in the windows watching and reporting to me the girls every MOOOOve... I LOVE that memory, thank you... and LOVE that cute little setting,
Donna

Thanks so much for your sweet comments on my Pig Trough. This was our youth group from church too. We had a three day Youth Conference and this was the final dessert.

Do it for them, they will talk about it forever.

Yes, this is my real kitchen. We remodeled it 5 years ago. Several have asked and I will do a post on the whole kitchen. We also have a pizza oven in the kitchen!

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND.
