Dollar Tree Noodling

Am I the only one with a precarious pile of cheap, old, beach towels taking up space in a closet?  Honestly, I don't know where they all come from.  We're overrun with them around here, and we don't even have a pool.

Thanks to Blog Land, I've figured out a way to reuse them.

Just cut them into strips and wrap them around a
Dollar Tree pool noodle
for an beachy door wreath.

That way, you can join the other bloggers who have gone completely
off their noodles at a crafting party.

                                                      Screen shot 2012 05 23 at 6.36.15 PM e1337873498583 Its a noodle party!

It's embellished with some terrycloth flowers made from washcloths which also came from the Dollar Tree. The petals were just adhered to some card stock with spray mount to keep them from being floppy.

In a big surprise, I used yet another painted Dollar Tree
sand pail to finish it off.

They love me at The Dollar Tree.

You might want to put on some sun shades for this one.
I warn you, the colors are kind of
bright and hot.

But it's summertime in southeast Georgia, people.
Bright and hot are the only two colors we know.

Total cost:
One dollar each for the noodle, pail, towels, and sunglasses
 for a total of $4.00.
Don't you think it looks like I spent at least $4.50?

That is adorable Debbie. And would be seriously cute at my pool. I wish I had the crafty gene, but alas I don't. But my daughters do, and I am going to pass this on to them and see what transpires. I am not above serious hinting! Love it.

I just love your beachy wreath! So cute. So neat that you made it with the towels. I think you should make one for the Duchess for her pool house. You know she'd LOVE it.

So inspiring..I've got to create something with those towels...

Debbie, this is so cute and fun and I love the colors. $4.50???? More like $45.00 in retail stores. Dollar Tree is a great place, but depends on where you live. xo

Debbie,
I would definitely have said $4.75!! All joking aside, said wreath would be very expensive in ANY beach shop you could find. I love crafts and crafting (have all my life)so this was right up my alley. However, just posting my blog this morning took two hours (I'm still getting used to the new blogger format UGH!). So good to be cheered up whenever I stop by. T

Brilliant, my dear! You are the crafty queen to be sure - and I hope you have a nifty beach house for this terrific wreath idea. I know a few folks on Cape Cod who would pay lots more than $4.50 for it . . .
Joy!

OK, I think this defines FUN!
I'm going to have to share this with my old-hat pals -- who, despite my moans n' groans, keep scheduling craft get-togethers. Better yet, can YOU come "sub" for me on craft day? :)

You never cease to amaze me with your clever creativity - actually, you never cease to amaze me, just sayin'~

Cheerful, Debbie - this just gave me a smile. Especially because I thought (with the sunglasses) the little pail looks like a person!

This is so very adorable. I either need to take a trip to the dollar store to make a pool noodle wreath or else cut up the one that's in the garage. Think my kiddo will miss it tomorrow at the pool?
