This table will be shorter on words than usual due to
conditions mentioned in my last post.
We just couldn't let the month of August slip by, though,
without sharing a poolside table.
Backside view
It's a thrifty table. The shell edged dinner plates were a Goodwill find. The deviled crab dishes were a wedding present.
We're not actually sure the origin of the large sea shells. A leather pouch full of them was found in my great grandmother's attic about 50 years ago.
Stemware is Aurora Blue by Denby
The exterior napkin is handmade.
(Fabric from JoAnn's)
I borrowed the shell flatware from my mother-in-law.
I forgot to ask the pattern.
Place card beach chairs are actually Christmas ornaments.
The centerpiece is supposed to look like random sprouts
on a sand dune.
We used yellow anemones and some succulents
in a wavy bowl of sand.
Thanks for joining us.
And thanks so much for your notes, your patience, and especially your prayers as I try to get my old perky self back. I truly appreciate them.

Hi Debbie,
This is a fantastic table!! I love the last photo with the blue, blue water behind the table -- looks so refreshing. You have some terrific elements on this table. I love the driftwood and the fishing net, and the handmade fish napkins are wonderful. The centerpiece is perfect with the bright yellow anemones and the succulents. Your blue stemware, shell flatware and deviled crab dishes are just lovely. I also noticed your shell trimmed placemats or chargers (?). A perfect table for the hot days of August.
I have been thinking about you since I read your last post on Saturday night. I'm so sorry you've been having a hard time for these past 12 years. I have migraines and sleep apnea, among other things, and it is difficult not to let these things get us down. Like you, I typically don't post about these things in my blog. I'll be praying for you and hope you'll be feeling better very soon.
Hugs,
Denise
Oh my gosh Debbie, I love this table. The dishes are just perfect and those little ornament chairs are so cute, your MIL's silver looks similar to mine. Well thanks alot...I did to catch a plane to somewhere near the ocean after seeing this table.
Hi Debbie
I've been thinking about you and praying for you since your last post. I have a friend that shares your condition and I know it is not easy.
As for your table ~ so cute!! I just want to know who you sent into the pool to give you those perfectly placed splashes behind your table. Loved it all!!
Feel better ~
"Hearing" from you today was a bright spot! Would be lovely to join you for lunch but maybe another time. Beachy themes are a favorite of mine so I adore yours today. HUGS and still thinking of you.
Ohh Oh Oh I saw my name at a place setting! Does that mean I am invited to come to the table?!? [o; I wish it was true and possible. ((HUGS))
I love love love looking at your tables and oooohhh and awwwe over them. And you are making me homesick with the ocean theme. I grew up near Seattle Wa. and I miss smelling the salt air. Thanks for sharing and letting us know you are still kicking and doing okay despite things.
Continuing to pray for you my SSiC
In Him<><

It's a dream! Both the setting and the cooler summer weather that would make it doable. NOT in Texas this summer, so I'll just let my mind wander over to your place today...
Praying for you as I write this, that your days of feeling 'less than' will soon end, and your vim and vigor will be restored. In the meantime, don't put any big demands on yourself, just rest and take it a day at a time.
xo
So happy to see your comments are back. I wanted you to know I pray you will continue to heal and restore back to your normal self, or even better! Take all the time you need though, I'll always be watching for you! I always enjoy all your posts and especially love the pretty tablescapes as well. Is that place set for me? I would love to join you pool side or better yet, you could join me poolside now. LOL! Love the handmade napkins and those crabcake dishes are so cute. Beautifully refreshing table! Love it!
Oh, to have your creativity. I am jealous of people like you with that eye for detail. I am too practical but love the final product! I think my daughter will be like you :)
This table by the pool is gorgeous!!! Looks like a magazine....neat
That centerpiece is so beautiful and so creative, I have a similar wavy bowl that belonged to my mother. I hope you are on the road to getting back to your old self. xo
Great table Debbie! Love the cute napkins and great colors! Take care:@)
Hello Debbie,
I am so happy that you posted today...I stopped by and read your last post and since the comment section was turned off I wasn't able to say Thank You for featuring my blog button...I noticed it when I was here and REALLY wanted to say THANK YOU.. as that is so very kind of you...I do also pray that you are back to your Gifted Spirit of Overflowing Joy and Laughter...Your Table setting is Beautiful and so Refreshing..Especially since we are still experiencing High heat...We were up to 107.4 the other day...So I could have REALLY used a DUNK in your pool... : ) These pictures would be LOVELY for My Blue Monday Linky Party next week...

Wow again Debbie! You definitely did make a splash. And I'm having fun imagining how you did it! Love the napkins and the creative/perfect centerpiece... wonderful.
Blessings, Debbie
Debbie -- even with UFO's you have managed such a fun summer table. That first picture was so fun with the splash. Love the shells and the napkins, and the flatware. Your turquoise tablecloth just sets everything up so perfectly and those CHAIRS! Everything just screams summer and I am afraid that I didn't appreciate it enough!
Praying you are feeling so much better, Debbie, a beautiful tablescape, love the colors so refreshing.
Enjoyed.
Sue
Beautiful tablescape! Love the colors!!
Very beautiful and the splashing water makes me want to jump into that pool!
Been thinking about you, will keep you in prayer. Your tablescapes are always so creative. The blue of the pool helps to set it off. Will be sorry to see summer end...but not the heat.
Hi Debbie:
You've been in my thoughts and I pray that you are feeling better each day.
As usual, your table is lovely. You are so talented at decorating.

Joan

What a fab tablescape, Deb! Oh! Just the thing to relax poolside with and forget that I'm back to school this week! Ya! My posts might be getting shorter and sweeter, too!
Joy!
Kathy
And, BTW - How're you feeling? Yak at me via e-mail if you'd like . . .
Thinking of you - Kathy
Hi Debbie! That is truly lovely and the perfect table to wrap up summer! I just wanted you to know too that you have been on my mind and in my prayers as you are dealing with those UFO's. :-) I have family members who also suffer from those pesky creatures so I have some understanding of how it can affect you. I hope you are able to get some good rest! :-)
Vanessa
So happy to find this post waiting to be enjoyed this evening!! I love those shells that were in the leather case in your great grandmother's attic 50 years ago!! Oh, yeah!! Your table looks so festive and happy! Love it all. blessings ~ tanna
That is a fabulous table< Love blue, love the shells...Hope you feel better soon, just tell the UFO"s that you don't have time for them right now!!
Carol
My prayers for you, Debbie! Pain is very stressful!
But your table is very calming! I love the colors and textures, just beautiful!
I have shells just like that found here on Long Island. I used them for candy dishes in my dinner dance post!
Gorgeous, love the colors!
Praying that you things get better for you and that you have the strength needed. Love your table.. the napkins are so perfect and I love love the flatware with the shells. Great glasses too. What a lovely view with the pool.. so refreshing. Be better.. lots of prayers. xo marlis
fabulous pics, setting and finds!
I love this! Your centerpiece and the use of yellow in the napkins are such a nice, fresh "take" on a poolside/beach table. If only your fabulous old shells could tell us from whence they came... Your Aurora Blue goblets add just the perfect touch of sparkle to complement the "splash!"
I'm enchanted by the tiered hand thrown (I'm thinking) centerpiece bowl. It is so dynamic on your lovely seascape. Glad that you're back to tablescape. I claim the Lord's protection for you. I pray that the healing blood of Jesus will flow through you...that you will feel the warmth of His healing touch as the balm of Gilead. My favorite prayer: God, I don't want this pain, and I don't like this pain. But Lord, if I'm going to have this pain, I pray that you will take my pain, Lord, and use it for Your good. In Jesus name, Amen. Thanks for stopping by for a visit. Cherry Kay
Hi Debbie~ I want to dive right into this poolside table! I LOVE your centerpiece with the sand & succulents and splash of yellow from the anemones! I see you set a place just for me :-)
Hope you're feeling better soon~
Oh my...so so talented!! Just beautiful...so enjoyed joining it. You should do this as a business...your treasures are always wonderful.
Prayers for you continuing!
Your pictures are amazing! The blue from the table looks perfect with the new pool liner.
I'm so happy the sun finally cooperated--made a huge difference, didn't it? You'll have to thank Miss Practical for the splash effects she created for the table. Really nice touch, in my humble opinion. We do make a good team.
Thanks for going to this effort with this post. I know it's not easy for you right now. Hope you'll be feeling better soon.
This is really beautiful! Love the aqua and yellow together! Great job!
I need to get going here and do another tablescape.
I hope you are feeling better with each day!
Katherine
So happy that you were able to post this today. GORGEOUS!
Now, every time I see dishes on sale I fantasize about buying them and creating a "Debbie" table. I was never THAT interested in dishes before. LOL!
Hope you are feeling better soon and can get back to your "normal" routines.
Cheers!
What a beautiful cool, relaxing table. I would love to visit there with you. The little chairs a so cute for the place cards! Great idea! Thanks for visiting Take Six, Debbie!
This California Girl loved this table!
Loved the soothing color scheme, and all the little attention to details that you're so well-known for (you do have worldwide fame - you knew that, right?!)
I think my favorite thing was the centerpiece. It did so remind me of sand dunes.
Got just one question - how did you time that splash in the background of the first two photos? Don't tell me YOU executed a perfect cannonball?!?!
Continuing to pray for you - quick healing, my friend. And even if you're off your game a little, you're still perky...always.
xo
Hope you are feeling better! I have been praying for you! Lovely table... perfect way to finish of the month of August! :)
Wow! What a beautiful beachy table! I love everything about it from the plates to the napkins you made to your great grandmother's bag of shells! Thanks so much for sharing this table with us. Also, thank you for the sweet words you left on my blog :)
C'mon, Debbie! Hang in there with me! I'm not going to say goodbye to summer just yet and I need an ally!!! This is a beautifully done table, and I love it that you used the found shells. That's pretty cool! You have GOT to know that I am SO jealous that you made those napkins!!! And they actually make deviled crab dishes for home use? I didn't know that! Those are pretty swanky! Feel better, my love, and I hope you enjoy the long weekend!
This is just lovely! What gorgeous fabric for those napkins too. I wish I would make myself sew some napkins! I love your end of summer tablescape!
Donna
I am speechless over this table. Absolutley amazing. I am wondering though who was doing all that splashing in the background??
My thoughts are with you as you take time to heal.
What a refreshing table! Love the beachy theme. Everything looks so gorgeous here.
Hope to see you on my blog:)
I didn't think it possible .... but I'm feelin' cooler already, looking at these great images! This looks like something out of a magazine ... yea!

Another fantastic table! I love all the little touches, especially the centre piece and little chairs. What a great resource goodwill is.
I hope you're soon feeling better.

Sweet Debbie, I'm so sorry you've not been your usual perky self. I've gotten so far behind in visiting my favorite bloggers, what with our galavanting around in California, and I'm sorry I'm just now getting around to see you. I pray you will be feeling A-ok really soon.
Love, LOVE your poolside table!
Okay. I am pretty sure this is my second favorite table. I absolutely love all the beachy touches. The colors are fantastic and those little chairs are adorable!!! So cute!!
Fabulous photos, Debbie. I love your tablescape. The blue crab napkins are beautiful ampong everything else....Christine
Thanks so much for your kind anniversary wishes Debbie. Wanted to comment back on your comment free post. It's a little freakish how much we have in common. I was recently put on low dose fibromyalgia meds for myofacial (sp?) pain syndrome which I've had for close to 15 years. Thank God it's helping. Living with cronic pain is no fun, but it seems neither of us are the type to let it stop us from living and enjoying life!
Debbie, I sure hope you are feeling better!!! As for the table, you just outdid yourself! What gorgeous colors! I have never seen deviled crab dishes! Those are too cute! Sorry I have been mia:-)
What a beautiful table! It's all so pretty and I really love the napkins, and the center piece! Great job!
Debbie, this is a beautiful setting. So pretty.
I try to get my house to look like some of those photos I posted but...I just don't ever "get there", either.
