An Empty Nest

Look at the treasure that Duchess found
 in her garden this week.

an empty nest...

Just like my nest this morning.

I don't mind saying that I'm sad.
And I'm kind of scared.

So I went to God's garden to find another treasure.

You will keep in perfect peace,
him whose mind is stayed on You,
because he trusts in You.
Isaiah 26: 3

Trust.
It's the Hebrew batach,
about which Gesenius's lexicon says,
"to confide in; to set ones hope and confidence in... "
I think, sometimes, we lack the confidence
because we fail to confide.

So I'm confiding my fears in Him this morning...
For his eye is on the sparrow...

Have a Sunday filled with perfect peace.

"Oh how I LOVE the birdie nests"... AND I especially love watching them gathering and building them. To me there is NOTHING cutter out there in the garden than a bird perched with a mouth full of debris for feathering his/her nest... LOVE THIS!!!
Hugs, Donna

Debbie -
What a precious little nest!!

The verse is a favorite of mine. Especially the phrase "whose mind is STAYED on You." I've always felt like peace was something we have to actively pursue, it requires an act of our wills, in spite of circumstances - we must commit to KEEPING our minds on the Lord...Amen?!

So...you've officially joined the ranks of "empty-nesters," eh? Isn't it just the most bittersweet of times?

Wishing you a Sunday of perfect peace too - xoxo

I never cease to be amazed by the intricacy of a bird nest!! The kiddos have displayed a few in various locations around the back yard. Love that verse...one of my faves!!

How pretty! Birds are like little feathery artists, aren't they?

Don't look at things as an empty nest .... look forward to the times the girls are home and you are their "mother-friend." Lorri coined a phrase for me .... "Frum." Combination of the British "mum" and "friend."

So, now, think of yourself as their "Frum."

Thank you so much for joining the "Inspiration Friday" party and for sharing this post. My first born starts 1st grade soon and it already feels like the beginning of those steps that will lead him out of our nest. It goes fast and I am glad that I have many going before me into the next season of life with faith and trust in the One who will watch over our little birds even when we aren't there!
Blessings,
Vanessa
