I'm just a little black rain cloud

 Let's review, shall we?

First it was the mysterious picture eating blogger bacteria.
Then, it was Della the Demon Possessed Laptop and her amazing whirly swirly circlet...
And then, some careless logger managed to black out power in a ten mile radius.
And then, a random act of senseless incompetence played peek- a- boo with the internet for an entire weekend.

Did I mention that after that particular adventure,
the husband's office computer simply gave up the ghost?

I didn't?
It did.

Did I mention that Della still whirly swirls on a regular basis?

I didn't?
She does.

And then, of course, there's the air conditioner. I haven't mentioned the misadventures of the upstairs heat pump, either. I was planning to keep that tidbit to myself so as not to earn the title Blog Jonah and get tossed out of the blogger boat.

So it should come as no surprise to anyone that I have another technological failure to report.

Rest in peace,  shiny red Kodak.
To my credit, I didn't cry.

She had been a bit finicky of late so I'm not completely surprised. The "before" shots of the closet left a bit to be desired as did some pictures that I felt the need to take en route.  When she literally did a fade to black as I was snapping,  I kind of suspected what I would see when I uploaded.  A new battery didn't help. The old girl is apparently done.

Worn slap to death, I imagine.

Therefore, although I did indeed finish the closet reorganization, the "after" shots will have to wait...
Unless you want to squint your way through pictures that look like this.

I didn't think so.

Musta been da debil.

So sorry to hear of your troubles..I'm sure it must be da debil! LOL! If it makes you feel any better I am having troubles with my clicker on the mouse. I think I've worn it slap out! :))

Oh Debbie, I did check with Pearlie and she has "no comment" on the Georgia cousin! Sorry for your trouble, these things always happen in clusters, it seems! xo,

I so understand this, Debbie! Technology does not like Mrs. Magpie, either. I don't think you're Jonah at all. Nay, I think you are my long lost sister! ;-)

Hope you get it all square soon. I noticed that my trusty camera seemed to be blurring photos. It's either my glasses, the camera, or I'm getting shaky. Not sure which.

And Charles Spencer? Far more handsome in person. A voice that would stop you in your tracks. He has "presence" galore. I was struck dumb. Mr. Magpie who has known me most of my life was so amused as I was almost mute. Thank goodness he picked up the slack. I honestly felt like a bit of a rube. LOL! But Charles Spencer was very warm and reserverd (if you can be both of those things) and funny. Yep, you would have loved him!!!

XO,

Sheila :-)

Just so you know, "Musta been da debil" has now been accepted into our family archives of favorite sayings! You don't mind loaning it out to us do you? :-) And I'm so sorry about your camera biting the dust...would it help you to know that I did actually fight back tears when we sold my beloved Volvo station wagon recently? I had to tell him, "it's not you, it's me" and my husband looked at me like I had finally lost my mind. He doesn't know that I really lost it a long time ago! LOL!

P.S. My daughter loves Winnie the Pooh and we sing "little black rain cloud" all the time! :-)

You are just Too talented...and it seems like a lot of us are having "older" things give up the ghost...now why did we think they were to last forever...I mean buy pots and pans once and they should be ready to hand down to someone when we die...right?

Well enjoy your new closet and enjoy finding you a new camera friend...they sure don't make them like they use to...isn't that the saying we always heard from our parents years ago...oh, my...Pooh Bear thinks we are showing our age!

Have a "PRODUCTIVE" week(there... how was that?)
HUGS,
Donna

Debbie,
Your post really made me smile because as I was out walking with my camera this morning, I thought of you and "shiny Red." Amazing right! Your sense of humor never fails to make me happy and smiley! I am hoping for better things to come for you and Sir Lotsa Hair in the future.

Debbie, I can promise you that NOBODY is going to throw you off of the blogging boat. We all love visiting your blog too much. I'm sure that everyone else feels like I do. We'd come visit your blog even if you were Blog Jonah! So sorry for all of your technical difficulties. My family says that there is a different chemical in my body that causes tech equipment to go kaput when I touch it! laurie

Tonight I'm laughing and crying...the shiny-red-kodak is just too much. Chin up sweet girl. If I win Pioneer Woman's camera, it's yours cause you are my favorite writer out there.

I laughed so hard at your comment about your room.. oh did that bring back memories.. I came home from school one day and my mother had emptied everything i owned into one pile in the middle of the floor. None of us were happy that day! a big hug for you... it will get better.

That durn debil! So sorry about your red Kodak. Hope you were able to find a new friend who takes bright, beautiful pictures.

If it makes you feel better, Hubby did a bunch of "updates" on the laptop last night and blog now looks WEIRD! Everyone else's is normal, but mine is all whopper-jawed, stretched out and over to one side. UGH! Must've been the debil! HA!

NOOOO!!! Not the shiny red. May she rest in peace. I cannot tell you how many times I have thought to myself in my car, "man. I wish I had a shiny red kodak like Debbie right about now." Then I watched as a glorious picture escaped, never to be seen. sigh.
Please tell me all is well in your area and that your trees that snap with ice are still in tact and your house is still standing, closet and all..

I'm so sorry the demons have invaded your computers but your shiny red camera has got to be the last straw! Booger!!!

I must say though, it made for some great blog fodder! I totally laughed all the way through.

God bless and have a glorious day sweetie!!!

Debbie - I'm sorry for your misfortune, but as usual you had me laughing through your post. Rest in Peace, Shiny Red Kodak.

You make me laugh -- you always have a way of turning bad circumstances into funny writing. Hope you get a new camera soon!

What is it with da debil?

Ohhhh...I'm am so sad to hear about shiny red Kodak! Did you give her a decent burial? Did you tell her how much we loved her and will miss her? Did you get a replacement yet?

Glad you explained the problem with the last picture - I thought I was having a "moment" or needed new glasses. Relieved to know it was faulty photo and not feeble friend.

OK, hands down my biggest laugh?? Blog Jonah! With your luck, if we tossed you out of the blogger boat, the big old fish that swallowed you would have IBM or Sony or some other technological emblem on its side. Debbie, the machines are taking over - walk quietly out of your house while you still have a chance...

I know misery loves company - but in this case, your misery made for a very entertaining post!!

Ah, you little trail-blazer, you! "Musta been da debil", is catching on like wildfire!

I'm wondering if an I.T. exorcism isn't in store?! (Then again, I'm not on speaking terms with any IT-types, or priests for that matter.)

Thanks for making me laugh aloud ... again!

Mama said there'd be days like this! :)

Out with the debil!

Here's to a better week!
